My daughter took me away as a combined xmas/birthday present, having not flown or holidayed abroad for 20 yrs. we went the end of April start of May. My daughter was surprised at the difference in the area, as she normally goes in June. We had rain for the first part of the week, many places didn't open til the latter half of the week, and we encountered 1st May Labour Day Bank Holiday ! The Plaza Paris was lovely. Went with jet2, due to narrow streets you are dropped off & have a 5 mins walk to Hotel(uphill on leaving), there was a small issue on booking in, we had booked a Superior twin & they had us as a Double, but a few mins and they had us sorted, giving us a Superior 2 doubles. They need proof of booking and we couldn't get the Jet2 app to email, so after several attempts and not receiving any email, they printed out a form that we then had to fill out with our details and sign. The staff seem to be mainly of French orientation and a lot of French stay there, but it was lovely to hear as I used to be a regular to France. Our room was on the 6th floor which meant you could only use the right lift. this can be fun, as if the left lift is free, it predominantly sends the left down, and if it is there the left lift will always open and not send the right one down ! the night porter showed us the trick was to send the left lift up a couple of floors and once it had reached 2, then call the right lift and it will appear. The 2 doubles were both comfortable, we were both warm at night given it was only sheet and linen type bedcovering, there were blankets on a shelf. My daughter couldn't get a comfortable mix with the pillows, tho I slept well. Large shower with drencher & adjustable slide head, tho this wouldn't stay up the pole. Towels changed every day, selection of toiletries, hairdryer. like others have said "in room kettle & drinks" would have been great as I missed my tea. The walls are thin and at night you can hear people up and about, coming in/leaving. The breakfast buffet was a great & varied selection, regularly topped up, good selection of options, lady all make omelettes and pancakes for you, it was lovely to have fresh fruit every morning and patisserie. being a mug drinker, the small cups had several refills of coffee!!! It is a 5-10-15 mins walk to front, more central parts, depending on which way you go. My daughter is a regular so has a good idea of where she is going, but was still permanently on google maps, with many meandering narrow streets. The spa was a lovely treat. The staff we encountered were all lovely, & helpful, the one lovely young lady on reception took nightly "going out" photos of us and on the last night I told her it was my first hotel stay and first holiday for 20 yrs, and I had had the most wonderful time, the food was good & the staff had been lovely, and she gave me a big hug. I would definitely recommend and return
