I'll start by saying that the hotel itself was fine and the room was spacious and comfortable. The reason for the poor rating was our experience with the staff in the middle of the night. First off, this hotels smoke detectors flash incessantly and when the room is dark, it's like lightning in the room. The at around midnight, the front desk called and woke us up to tell us there was an issue with the alarm and that they were coming to our room. 15 minutes later someone pounded loudly on the door, waking up everyone else. The man couldn't explain the issue but mentioned the alarm and the police. Then he left and said that we had to stay up and wait. After 15 more minutes we called the front desk and was told that they police were there and that someone had to come back to the room. All this ended up with someone rotating a smoke detector. There was no explanations, no apology and no offer of compensation for the 90 loss of sleep in the middle of the night. This is an incompetent staff and inwoils suggest choosing another hotel
