This lower floor of our home provides all the comforts of a 5 star apartment in a rural setting. Enjoy exploring the gardens or just looking across them to the Coast.We are close to Mapleton and access to all that the Blackall Ranges has to offer but without the traffic and noise, being located at the end of a cul-de-sac. Tea, coffee and breakfast makings are included. It is a short walk or a 5 minute drive to local cafes and restaurants, wedding venues or forest walks. A separate entrance with a parking space enables total privacy with as much or little contact with hosts as desired. There is a PowerPoint near the car park if you need to charge your electric vehicle. We are located close to sections of the Hinterland Great Walk and Peter is happy to offer experienced guidance on tracks. We are also only 30 minutes from beautiful beaches and the Sunshine Coast airport. This really is a monster apartment with spacious bedroom, kitchenette, comfortable living and dining areas, separate lounge/TV room and extensive outdoor patios on the east and north sides. Dramatic sustainable house designed for relaxed holiday living by Mapleton local Philip Boorman who has many awards for his outstanding Architectural work and furniture designs. Located on the escarpment in the centre of the 125 acre site. This privileged isolation has allowed the house design to be opened to the expansive surrounding valley and mountains by the extensive use of timber framed bi-fold doors and windows. Solar panels generate the power supply and roof water is collected in tanks for filtered reuse within the home. The original survey plan of 1904 noted: "All the country here on shown is of an Extremely Rugged and Broken nature." This rugged landscape has protected the area from encroachment by subdivisions for over 100 years, providing flora and fauna with largely undisturbed area for species listed as endangered, such as the Coxen Fig-Parrot and the Regent Honey eater, to thrive.
