Absolutely beautiful hotel with friendly and caring staff. Our room was lovely with the most comfortable beds and fabulous bathroom. We had a side view room with the biggest terrace complete with lounge chairs and a small table and two chairs. The size was the best surprise. The breakfast was amazing! The choices were endless and included everything anyone may want including scrambled eggs. The room was exquisite and the staff so helpful. The location is perfect, directly across from the sea and all the beachside restaurants and shops. It was easy to catch the bus to Forte dei Marmi for a sweet little day trip. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a completely relaxing stay in an elegant surrounding with staff who make you feel like family.

Hotel was perfectly situated along the sea front, staff helpful and friendly, breakfast was served in a beautiful dining room with a great choice of food Fantastic roof terrace About a 10-15 minute walk to the train station for trips to Pisa and Lucca Train fares great value for money AND the sun shone every day…..perfecto! Fantastic hotel the staff friendly and helpfull. The room was a bit small but a new bathroom and spotless. The best breakfast so much choice and the staff could not do enough for you. Will be going back. When we were leaving we asked if they would store our luggage they said yes and this was our home untill we left.

We stayed in this hotel for our first time in Viareggio Italy. The location was conveniently located across from the boardwalk; the room was perfectly appointed; and we totally enjoyed the sunset from the Blu Bar on the roof of the hotel. The staff was also very friendly and helpful, but especially the concierge, Julian, at reception, always had a smile, helped us up the front steps with our luggage, and gave us directions. He made our stay very pleasant. The hotel is fortunate to have him on their staff.

I have been to Italy quite a few times, and I lived there for a short time many years ago. I have stayed in lots of different hotels, B&Bs, etc. there. The Palace Hotel is by far my favorite. Wonderful location, reasonably priced, clean well-furnished rooms, and the best showers I’ve ever found in Italy. But most of all, it’s the great staff. It is just so nice to be greeted with such pleasant honest smiles from the cameriere when you come down to breakfast in the morning. The front desk folks bend over backwards to help with any issue, and the facchini/maintenance guys are the most efficient I’ve ever seen in a hotel. It’s a great place and I can’t recommend it enough. P.S. – In response to one person’s negative comment in these reviews about the cost of the beach facility across the street associated with the hotel - Yes, some private beach facilities can be pricey, but remember that there are lots of other private and public beaches to choose from.

Absolutely love this place. The people have to be the friendliest people in all of Italy. We were running around the coast and a bit of Tuscany for a month and yes, the staff were the best in the country. Clean, comfortable and the breakfast setup was second to none. If in the area, highly recommend staying at the Palace Hotel!

Adorable hotel characteristic of Viareggio in the days of elegant dining, phone booths and high ceilings with the convenience of a modern large bathroom. Location is perfect. Service fantastic. I have stayed in Viareggio many times but rarely return to a hotel for one reason or another but I would absolutely book this again.
