We just returned from staying a week at Faraway MV. We loved the property and location. The hotel is gorgeous and the property is well maintained. The staff was so nice and went above and beyond. The room was cleaned very well daily. The Newes has great food too! We ended up eating there twice. We all had to get used to the pillows in the room but otherwise very comfortable rooms.

Run as far away as you can from this experience. I booked through *******, checked on a canceled policy, and faraway canceled the reservation. I called, made my customer service claim, got the runaround for three days, with no call back or accountability. Too many other nicer places to stay to put up with a lack of commitment to a new or potential customer. The name says it all, stay far away!

Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations- cannot recommend Faraway enough. The property is gorgeous and we loved being in the center of Edgartown- close walking distance to restaurants, cafes, and shopping. Room was so comfortable and well appointed, felt like a home away from home.

We spent 4 nights at the new Faraway in Mid May. Overall we do love the renovations. Our review will focus on one thing. At check out we were told that we had to pay additional taxes and fees. We told the manager that we had pre paid and showed him the breakdown. He said " you did not pay "Edgartown Taxes" We once again said we did pay the local taxes and fees in the amount of over $400 for 4 nights for one room. He said that we did not pay this so instead of arguing we paid it and thought we would settle up later. That was a mistake. 2 weeks and multiple emails later we have not had a response from the hotel so we were forced to dispute the charges with AMEX. This is disturbing as a new hotel should respect its new visitors who have given them a vote of confidence in booking a room and spending money with them. Anyway, in the overall scheme of lives problems, this is minor but if a hotel is overcharging us over $400 for 4 night stay maybe they are doing it to everyone.

We stayed in the Chappy House in the two bedroom suite. It was absolutely gorgeous and the outside deck space with water views was almost as large as the living area. Everything is just lovely. But here are my main criticisms that would take Faraway from being lovely to being almost perfect. Even though there was a sink/kitchen area in the unit, there was NO way to make coffee, heat water, etc. We were told this on checking in and given vouchers for coffee at a small clothing shop on the property that opened at 8 am. I don't drink coffee and when we went, I was told that the voucher was only good for drip coffee not for tea. I had brought my own tea bags so was given hot water. Tea and coffee in the morning is such a BASIC need for a stay at a hotel I'm pretty shocked that they couldn't get it together to set up a coffee service in the lobby area. I wouldn't have minded needing to walk to get coffee and bring it back to the room. This was such a weird oversight but made the mornings no where near as pleasant as the location and amenities seem. We were there right before the pool and hot tub were open but they are beautiful, as is the workout room. I would stay again (the staff was very friendly) but I really hope they figure out the basics.

I would absolutely stay here again -- great location, great service. The unusually long check in was a deterrent. But I chalk it up to start of season. The charming hotel and great amenities -- stellar welcome packet. (Love the seeds!). Pool music a little loud, but gorgeous place to lounge and relax. Location right in town is ideal. And really, the people make the place.

We had a fantastic experience at the Faraway Martha's Vineyard (stayed mid-May 2024). The staff was amazing - starting from the wonderful welcome through drinks in the evening. I believe the hotel has undergone a major renovation or refurbishment as the place looks great. The decor throughout the hotel is incredible and got a chance to listen to James Taylor on a record player and try out the new bikes. Our stay got cut short a day due to air travel, but we are planning to come back. Great job Faraway!

My girlfriend and I treated ourselves to a weekend stay at the Faraway MV over xmas in Edgartown weekend. So, for those who have not been to the Xmas weekend.....do yourself a favor, go!! If you want the "homeru" book the Faraway. Not only are they actively involved in the weekend festivities and supporting the charitable mission, they are right in the middle of all the action. Magical. I cannot wait to be back!!! Thanks to the staff and mgmt team for taking great care of us.

The most comfortable pillows, the best scented bathroom products, chic unique style of hotel and such kind and pleasant attentive staff! Will certainly visit again! This is a great place for families, friends, or couples. Perfection!
