Our stay was very relaxing and comfortable. The room looks like a wood cabin, so it's a very cool vibe. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is right on the main street so everything is very easy to get to. Will definitely stay here again.
The hotel is quirky but a good place to stay. You check in by a video feed. The room is clean, but daily cleaning is hit and miss. The breakfast is good but never changes. Eggs, sausage links, yogurt, Cheerios, Raisen Bran, donuts, bagels, toast, oatmeal, juices, coffee, and hot chocolate. There are oranges and apples too. The hotel is on the main road, lots of road noise, but it if fine if your windows are closed. I'd say this hotel is a bit overpriced. Some parts aren't in good repair (laundry area).
We booked our May 2023 (Sun-Wed) trip to Moab (Arches National Park) in April so I had a hard time finding a reasonable room rate. We wanted to be close to the NP entrance. I read through lots of reviews for establishments in Moab and decided on the Virginian as it had pretty good reviews and nothing to turn us off the place. The day was very dreary when we drove up and my husband wondered if I had booked us at a Bates motel (LOL). The check-in went smoothly, they had one of those Kiosk check-in units. Luckily, I had read all about this new phenomenon so was not surprised. I had booked a disabled room with a accessible shower. There are two buildings and the handicap room was in the back where two handicap parking spaces are located. Although the exterior was well-worn and there were a few weeds growing along the property, we were pleased when we entered the room which was clean, spacious and furnished with art deco type furniture and a hard-wood tile floor. The king size bed was quite comfortable with very supportive pillows. A good size mini-frig, microwave, Keurig dispenser and TV with good reception were all appreciated. The air conditioner was fairly loud so we tended to turn it on high to get the room very cool and then turned it off for the night. The bathroom had plenty of towels for two people, there were the usual provided toiletries. The handicap shower had a new looking shower curtain, standard shower head, hand-held wand, pull-down seat and plenty of safety rails. The water got hot quickly and had lots of pressure. The water at the sink also got hot quickly so be careful! Since there was no shelf for toiletries, I used the end of the cabinet in the bedroom that was close to the bathroom door. There was a tiny little round table in the bedroom area that could have been brought into the bathroom to serve also. Breakfast is not included but the Moab Diner (closed Sundays) is just across the street and opens promptly at 6am for breakfast. This was a life-saver as the park reservation tickets that we were able to acquire were for 7am Monday. At check-out we turned in our keys and requested a printed receipt from the Kiosk agent. There is a printer in the office for this purpose. There are on-site cleaning staff to clean the rooms.
This motel is right off the middle of town so you can walk to a number of restaurants, beer pubs, stores, tour companies. It has a big parking lot and nice swimming pool. The rooms are very nice and have everything you'd expect. The motel and rooms have a cozy feel, unlike the chains that are now pretty sterile and cold feeling.
