ホテル マエストーゾ(Hotel Maestoso - Lipica)

I have been to a lot of hotels but this one really made an impact to me. It is placed on a outstanding location, surrounded by breathaking nature and world known horses Lipicaner with its tradition dating back to 1580. Guys from Enota architect studio Ljubljana can really be proud of themselves because they made sure than every last detail is in its place. Maestoso offers a really original and unique true brand experience everbody should experience. Even tought it might be young or unexperienced regarding its traditions, believe me, you will surely remember your stay in this wonderfull hotel. P.S. Shower heads are the most original thing ever. They are designed as brushes for horses. + true brand experience, very eco and cell phone friendly, original design, minimum food waste, nice location, friendly staff, payed attention to every single detail, charging plugs for mobile in bed frame. !+! GYM IN THE ROOM - no minibar in rooms, questionable functionality of room, limited food selection for breakfast, sharp bed frames, no privacy on terace, sufficent cleaning and hygiene level but not up to standards this hotel deserves.

Wonderful hotel with stylish interior, beautifully and thoughtfully decorated throughout. My family enjoyed a stay in Lipica last summer along with a big group of our wider family. We had an amazing time and I would definitely recommend a stay at Hotel Maestoso.

The location is very pleasant, provided you have a car; otherwise it would be hard to get to. The design of the rooms and the communal areas is nice, apart from the low level of lighting in the rooms. In our room that was in part because some of the light bulbs were missing, so be careful not to electrocute yourself when trying to turn each one of them on by its individual switch. I recommend checking with the hotel in advance whether there will be 200 school children staying when you plan to visit. They will be up all night shouting from their balconies. I imagine this could be less of a problem if the hotel fixed its drainage system so you didn’t have to leave the door to your balcony open to let the smell out. As other reviews have said, bar and restaurant service is slow and forgetful. The food is good.

At first this Hotel was impressive, modern architecture, wide indoor halls, spacious room, beautiful green areas for the horses. Beautiful, just take a look at the pictures. The service at the reception was excellent at check in and check out. But then in the evening we discovered a real lack of light in the rooms. Perhaps the designer/architect thought it would give an intimate ambiance, but actually it was dark and ... somehow kind of depressing. The location is not optimal and you need a car of course or be part of an organized tour. But the reason for the 3 star rating was the service at the dining room. Don't get me wrong, the food was really good but the service there was not at the same level than at the reception. Quickly enough the buffet got empty and trying to have the plates refilled was met by an almost hostile reaction from the staff. Pity!

I spent seven weeks biking and hiking around four countries in Europe this summer/fall and this was the hotel I least liked. Thankfully the main attraction, the famous Lipizzaner horses, made up, a bit, for the disappoin**ent. I arrived by bike and at first sight the hotel looks very interesting architecturally so you imply it will be just a neat inside. Unfortunately, someone went a bit too far and things just don’t add up in a harmonious way. My room on the ‘800’ floor was modern but uber-cumbersome. Twelve lights, each with their own switch, not counting the ones in the bathroom and shower. There are plugs and switches everywhere. Each light is just a pot light that gives very little light so it feels like a cave in the room even with all the lights on. There was a neat little trick when you turned the TV on, it said Welcome Mrs. (add your last name here). I checked the hotel information on the TV and then turned it off. Two times, though, it turned itself back on and I had to repeat the OFF command. Thankfully it didn’t happen again during the night, waking me up. It took forever to connect to the internet, dropping me off often. The sink had a long crack in it so I feared using it. My view from the room was of the roof of a huge building probably for equipment for this vast place. This modern concept is made to go with a horse & barn theme I’m guessing but it just doesn’t work. Maybe it pleases the ******-type crowd but we were on a gourmet tour here and this place just didn’t cut it, sorry to say. The bright side of all this was the reception, however. They were welcoming and quick both at arrival and departure. Thank you for that.

First of all i dont think a steak should be cold. Second thing why i am going with my familly and friends and am getting a room with them together like what is wrong, and then you ask me to pay about that we need 2 diffrent rooms

This was the place we choose for our seminar with main key accounts from ex Yugoslavia. Hotel is very interesting, in a way strange with unusual but very interesting concept in a spirit of steam punk. Staff is helpful and nice while the rooms are big enough with balconies. Strange thing was that they missed to clean the room first morning while after intervention everything was ok. Breakfest could be with more choice but still it was a solid one. Surounding with horse farms and beautiful landscapes is what this place makes good value for money.

We stayed for 2 nights with half-board … don’t do half-board! But do go ride the dressage horses! The dinner food was Bain-Marie tasteless, few vegetarian options and the cakes were awful. We had thought we could choose from the restaurant menu listed on the website, or the food would be similar, but it was separate for those on half-board. Breakfast was unexciting but acceptable. The rooms are very comfy … though a king size bed was just two singles pushed together, that moved on the floor …. hate that hole in the bed in the middle of the night! The design is lovely. The area is beautiful, visiting the Lipica stud and riding their dressage horses was amazing … so we will return to stay at the hotel … but eat our dinner in Trieste!! The views from rooms seemed variable … we got the car park!?! Others got the dilapidated old pool area (as other reviewers pointed out, images of the hotel having a swimming pool are concept designs NOT reality). It was very quiet during the evenings once the tour buses had moved on, very pretty and worth staying!

Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights for a conference (in the same hotel). Checking in (and checking out for that matter) was quite slow, but uneventful. I got upgraded to a bigger room, which was more like an apar**ent - so no complaints there! Everything was spotless clean and well maintained. Air conditioning was working but could have been a bit more performant. The buffet in the restaurant was quite decent for lunch and dinner, the breakfast choices were maybe a bit limited. The majority of the staff is very helpful and friendly. Be aware the hotel does not have a swimming pool - although there are photos of a pool on different websites. When inquiring about the pool, reception laughed and said those were artistic impressions but the pool has not been built yet.
