Oniro Suites is rubbish. Save yourself the headache and if you are going to spend over $500 per night (during high season), look elsewhere! Do not be fooled by the glowing reviews. * Overlooks highway. No mention that that hotel faces the busiest street in Mykonos and opposite Rochari which hosts nightly parties. There is a small retaining wall but the hotel is in a u-shape facing the street so it captures all of the highway noise. If going to charge these prices with this location, the hotel needs to ensure that the doors and suites are completely soundproof. Offering disposal earplugs is not enough. The doors have large gaps underneath and are exceptionally thin. It feels like you are sleeping on the side of a highway during the day and at night. * Mold smell pervasive. The hanging wicker lamps were covered in mold. While not dangerous, the smell is overpowering and masked with air fresheners. And because there is loud noise from cars and people on the street, it is impossible to open a window for fresh air. I was told that over the winter the lamps are stored in the rooms but cleaned for summertime. Store them somewhere where mold can’t grow or replace them with plastic. * Faulty curtains. Unable to sleep beyond 6AM. Curtains that don’t block light fully. Light blocking type but light pours in top and bottom because the windows face the sunrise. I was taping the curtains shut and putting towels under the door. The whole time I was there, I couldn’t open the curtains after doing this. This is not acceptable for 575 per night. * Noise - cars and screams and music. The ruckus that is created is unbearable and makes it mostly impossible to sleep through the night. All rooms in the hotel have this problem. Offering earplugs is not an acceptable solution. * No cellular data service and no WiFi. Wifi only worked one evening of a 4 night stay. With limited cellular service where the hotel is situated, Wifi is essential. And it is not just the problem of it not working, they do not have enough routers in the hotel. It makes researching where to go or exploring the island mostly impossible. * Small plunge pool that is next to wall that faces the highway. The marketing photos of the hotel are very misleading. There is nowhere to sit outside and relax without the sound of the road. And the pool is not a true pool. Be warned. * Limited hot water. Hot water for showering runs out after 3 - 4 minutes of showering. This is not a youth hostel. A hotel at this 4 star quality should have unlimited hot water. This is not acceptable. I alerted hotel management about all of these things, but they stated that “It is an unfortunate situation that the hotel did not meet your expectations. My colleagues at the hotel did their best to make your stay pleasant.” The experience was so frustrating, and infuriating that I had considered checking into another hotel but had paid the full rate in advance.
