The pictures are deceiving, the actual room you end up getting looks way different, older, smaller. Our room even had flickering lights so they just gave us another one. Staff varies, some are nicer than others, the lobby is nice and you have many optiona around the hotel to dine or shop or even party. We felt safe all the time. Beds were small but comfortable. Overall it was okay, not sure if I will stay there again.

Property could use some upkeep. However, the price was reasonable, and the location is excellent. Additionally, the staff were very nice.

I have been staying here for awhile. love the funky vive and the rooms are decent. Jose at the counter is especially nice and professional. however, I have noticed lately that the lobby is looking dark, tired, and creepy... Nothing like a little paint and extra lighting to enhance the space.

The location for the heart of Time Square was excellent. The service staff were excellent. For 1-2 nights this hotel is adequate, for longer stays it is not. There was no kettle, fridge or microwave. The water temperature in the shower was inconsistent and the pressure weak. We were lucky staying on the 2nd floor because we could just walk up 2 flights of stairs. Those on higher floors had to tackle the small, slow lifts. The view out our window was a massive generator so we didn't see outside until we walked out onto the street. But I guess the rate was fair for the xmas/new year period, we did book 5 months in advance though.

Great location Very friendly and helpful staff

Expecting The Gallivant will be better when they finish remodeling and hopefully work on maintenance on rest of hotel. Great location for my desires and with some attention this can be an awesome hotel. 2 of the lobby entrance doors have been taped off for months now. I have stayed here before and have another reservation coming up. Interior of the room needed work with holes in walls, badly scraped corners, unpainted around ceiling light and bunk bed contraption needed repair. TV by bunk beds was missing remote and when technician came he apparently already knew the TV hadn't been working. An elevator has been out of service during each of my visits. The rate was what I would expect for the time of year or maybe should've been lower considering current condition--room for June 2023 visit was in better condition, although 3 of 4 staff that visit were rude or misleading/incorrect (I'll stop short of saying they lied).

Front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful especially Trish. At one point ony one elevator was in service

Great place for what we needed. It was a weekend visit to see a show and do a couple tourist things. Thanks for making my birthday weekend perfect.

We really liked the suite for our 5 people family. Definitely would stay again.

I wasn’t a fan of the hotel as I booked this based on the pictures provided, when I made it to the hotel, it was visibly not the same property. Although the area was very close to time square and in walkable distance to many areas, it was also right next door to a bar/nightclub that was a bad addition to the trip. The room was also much smaller, lighting was terribly bad, and the shower was extremely clogged as every time one of us would have to take a shower the water would not go down the drain and flood into the bathroom instead. Overall, I wasn’t a fan and would not stay here again.

This property is located in a prime area for Times Square. But that’s where the good stops. There were roaches and knats in our room and despite requesting several times to have the room sprayed, it wasn’t. The heater wall controls were broken so controlling the temperature was a nightmare. The entire hotel is very old, which is ok, except it needs a lot of repairs and maintenance with several things broken. I do not recommend.

Super personel. Some towels or coffee missing sometimes but nothing really an issue.

Pros- Location, clean, spacious, price Cons- Poor condition, room was hot in December and we couldn’t control the air, didn’t have hot water for 24 hours, they ran my card before check in and it was declined until the bank called me. They told me I was lucky they didn’t go ahead and cancel my reservations without even contacting me first. I would stay there again only because of the spacious room and price but it’s definitely not for someone who prefers at least 2.5 stars.
