No.12 ホテル & ビストロ(No12 Hotel)

I stayed as part of a walking holiday on the John Muir Way and to take a boat trip to the nature reserves on the islands off North Berwick. The location is brilliant for both and for the town itself. I got a lovely welcome and all the staff I met were friendly and professional. My room was spotlessly clean, stylishly decorated and had a huge window with a sea view. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was lovely and powerful. Breakfast in the in restaurant was excellent, with a great choice, and quality food well presented. Really enjoyed my stay.

Second visit to this hotel. We love it for it's location - just at the end of the high street with easy access to the beach. The rooms are very spacious, spotlessly clean, bright and airy. The beds are so comfortable and the rooms we have stayed in also have lovely large bathrooms. Nice bottled water, hot chocolate, tea, coffee and shortbread available in each room. Food in restaurant was great, very tasty and the hotel staff were all very friendly.

Hotel fairly basic for the price we paid I've stayed in many b&b with a more luxurious decor for less than I paid at this hotel...not worth the money...thought the dinning room was basic decor.and could be clean.... breakfast was tasty disappointing with the continental display on a small table stuck in the corner...staff friendly..overall a lot of money for a basic stay...

We arrived early at No12 after I had arranged to drop off my luggage. As the room was ready, the hotel staff kindly suggested that we could check in. We were pleasantly surprised to be staying in a huge en suite room overlooking the street (No2). The room was spotless and very tastefully decorated. We particularly liked the use of a sofa to sit on when watching TV and drinking the plentiful supplies of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Both my daughter and I slept well - the twin beds were a decent size and comfortable. The breakfast provided was freshly cooked and varied. You eat your breakfast in the cafe/restaurant, which is clearly popular with local people, visitors as well as hotel residents. The hotel staff reserved our table for us to ensure there would be space at breakfast. Thank you - we had a relaxing stay.

Overall, this was a wonderful stay in a beautiful hotel. The room is beautiful, the bathroom is beautiful and it was great that they provided a wee step in the bathroom as it helped getting into the shower. The restaurant is beautiful, and I loved that it is dog friendly. That is the overall summary - so now a slight wee breakdown on the stay.... The bedroom is slightly small, so we would say though that it is perfect if you are staying for a short stay ie 1 - 3 nights, after that you may begin to find it slightly claustrophobic. However, there may well be larger rooms in the hotel - we honestly couldn't say? The bathroom is rather compact too but, end of day, it serves its purpose & it is very beautiful. Both bedroom & bathroom was very clean & the bed was so so comfy!! There is no lift, so be prepared for hiking up the stairs if you are on the 2nd floor, and believe me - the burn will be real HaHa In all seriousness, they simply cannot put a lift in the hotel so really cannot use that against them. The restaurant is beautiful, it is cosy, it is clean & it is dog friendly!! The meal that we had in the evening was great, thoroughly enjoyed it and our breakfast was amazing!! Only thing I would say is, it can be compact when busy but it is how it is, and I certainly wouldn't mark them down for that!! All the staff that we came across were polite, helpful & very welcoming!! Particularly the older gentleman that we spoke to in the evening & morning!! What stops this fae being a 5/5 - simply the cost, £160 for the night was too much and sadly, we felt for that price, we simply did not get full value for that money.

What a lovely hotel, the staff are really friendly and polite. I had a single room and it was perfect, very comfortable mattress and pillow. Breakfast was yummy! Seconds from the beach and highstreet - great location! Can’t wait to come back.

Stayed 2 nights at the hotel, very central, room was lovely and clean, staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was tasty with plenty of options. overall the hotel has a very chilled and relaxed atmosphere. We ate in the bistro in the evening and food was lovely so would definitely recommend but book as it can be busy and it is small. We did have to park a few streets away from the hotel but this would definitely not put us off returning.

Excellent value for money-huge bright room with lovely big bed, sofa, nice shower room Very nice staff, lovely breakfast. Only slight issue was bedding smelled musty, nothing a quick squirt of fabreze wouldn’t sort out! Great central location, 2 mins walk to the beach. Restaurant also has big covered beer garden to the rear.

The hotel is well presented by it's décor, bistro and lovely rooms and is ideally located with pubs and restaurants within a minutes walk. Breakfast was excellent with a menu of all different choices from the Full Scottish Breakfast to filled rolls and also Vegetarian options. The staff were friendly and wonderful too.
