Abbiamo soggiornato in questo hotel solo un giorno, sufficiente comunque per gustarci la bellissima piscina e l'ottima accoglienza dei gestori. La struttura è ben curata e pulitissima. Anche le camere sono ottimamente realizzate e dotate di tutti i confort. Bravi.

the hotel itself is very stylish and modern; a mix of pop art furniture and fine marble; the breakfast area and bar is also very modern and nice; the rooms are old fashioned - not dirty but would need a bit refurbishment to come up to the expectations you have entering the hotel; down to the south of Italy it is helpful to speak some words in Italian - not all staff is able to understand your english; breakfast was a bit weird: everything was prepared by the waiters which was maybe due to corona but was not quite helpful (speed and thickness of the cutted slices); coffee was made on request (very good); pool area was very nice and tidy; beach is reachable only by shuttle (car provided by hotel for free); takes you within 10 mins to the beach; beach towels can be borrowed at reception (3 E); in the surroundings there is nothing special so you need a car there, which can be parked for free in front of the hotel; problem: every day (!) there was a big wedding/event; sometimes of course with loud music/noise; the hotel is more a party location than a hotel to stay for a relaxing holiday; Amalfi coast is about 1 hour drive

Positives 1. Parking for the apartments is right next to the apartments. 2. There is a decent sized swimming pool that we had access to next to the apartment so we didn’t need to use the bigger pool that was used for weddings. 4. The pool we used was a 1 minute walk from the apartment and wasn’t busy. 5. The bedroom was of a good size. 6. The kitchenette was functional. 7. It was possible to wash our baby in the bathroom, although tight the shower was big enough to put our travel inflatable baby bath in the base. 8. Beach was very nice as long as you sat in the 3rd row of chairs it was free. 9. The smell of eucalyptus trees on the way to the beach was nice. 10. The sea was a 10 minute walk, even with the baby and the heat it was easy to do and didn’t use the shuttle bus once. 11. Local shops are limited but good enough. (Didn’t find any baby formula though) 12. The staff were as accommodating with questions as my no Italian and their broken English allowed. 13. They let us settle our bill the night before we left as we were leaving early and they said there would only be a skeleton staff. 14. Using toll roads it’s only about 1 and half hours from Naples airport. (Don’t leave “avoid tolls” on like I did initially as that drive wasn’t fun and took and extra hour) 15. Toll was €2.10, I used cards and this worked every time although the transaction on a Sunday didn’t appear on my statement for 2 days, all other days the toll came off the card immediately. 16. We used the big pool in the photos once. It was nice and the baby liked it on a day when there weren’t any weddings. 17. Paestum really was very close and fully worth a visit. 18. Pompeii was only about an hour away with a €2.10 toll each way. 19. Decent safe in the bedroom, could fit my 13” laptop. 20. Hair dryer in bathroom was ok. Negatives 1. The large pool was closed for weddings between 12:30 and 15:30 and not cleaning as we had been told. 2. We weren’t disrupted by the weddings but they were every day from what a guest staying in the main hotel said. 3. No kettle in the apartment. 4. No iron in the apartment. 5. Massive sink in a small bathroom was a bit odd. 6. The shower, glass door runner always jammed and had clearly been “repaired” at some point. The kitchen tap and the shower water are connected so don’t use them both at the same time or the temperature gets very severely affected. 7. The apartment only had a single free bed linen change which did not include a room clean. 8. There was a €40 charge to clean the room which included towels and bed linen change 9. The AC only went down to 21° 10. The large AC unit outside between the apartments and the car park was very noisy and could be heard in the apartment at night. 11. Reception staff had better English than I have Italian, not really a bad point but a bit difficult as I have no Italian. I used google translate a lot. 12. Breakfast was very limited. Hotel Olimpico is a lovely hotel and spotlessly clean inside and out AND the rooms are cleaned every day ; good breakfast selection ; pool bar and has a great pool area where you can also order food. The reception ladies are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The bar staff Davide, Sergio, Michel & Daniel ( sorry if I missed anyone) were brilliant ! Very welcoming and again nothing was too much trouble for them, whether you have 1 or several drinks they are all great barman and an asset to the hotel ! The location was a bit out of the way for us but there was a free shuttle which was a god send as it was 50 euros each way in a taxi to the port in Salerno. The area itself is run down with bars and restaurants along the front either closed, boarded up or derelict so we were quite relieved when the taxi drew up in front of the hotel but a bit disappointed not to be able to have a walk along to a bar or restaurant outside of the hotel. Our room was spacious and clean but a bit drab and colourless. Sadly we were directly above the kitchen area so we were woken daily very early by the noise of the metal ramp being used to ferry food to the restaurant for breakfast (I presume) and the air conditioning didn't work although I did report this. We stayed here for 8 days for my husbands 50th birthday with friends and for the most part our experience was a good one. First night we ate in the restaurant just the 2 of us and felt the manager was a bit off and sharp but didn't take too much notice. Our friends arrived the next day and a few days later after a long day out we decided to eat in the restaurant and assured them the food was good based on our first meal. However, 11 of my mussels did not open which was over half my starter and our friend['s starters of grilled cheese and vegetables were cold. My main meal came out and the chicken was pink & raw but after sending it back and it still wasn't cooked I decided to leave it. Our friend ordered steak medium but it was raw when it came out. Not wanting to send food back again he ate the edges and left the rest. The blonde waitress couldn't raise a smile, literally threw our food at us and had no table manners at all and the manager and his sidekick with the glasses did not at any time come to our table to enquire if there was a problem nor offer a solution - they just raised their eyebrows, muttered under their breath nodding towards our table and completely ignored us ! Only the nice young waiter (didn't get his name) who took my food back was so apologetic but apart from that they weren't interested in our table at all and made it quite clear they did not care. When we paid he begrudgingly knocked off my meal and 1 steak meal but this wasn't the issue. The issue was their attitude towards us was disgraceful ! As paying customers you expect to be treated with courtesy and if you are unable to do this then you should not be in hospitality so for the rest of our stay we did not eat

We booked an Executive Double Room for 2 nights in this hotel. The hotel is connected to Osteria Arbustico a Michelin star restaurant. During check-in we were told that the pool was closed for that day. There was a wedding venue the whole day and we found out that the guests occupied every space available so there was no room for the other guests that were staying at the hotel. No possibility to eat, to drink nothing. Our room was more that of a Motel. It was separated from the hotel in a block with other rooms. We had a view from our terras on the parking, garbage, airco units and clean wash hanging outside. The room was small and had a small dated shower. The second day we went to the pool. To our surprise we found broken glass, cigarettes, olives, cheese and whatever you can think of left behind by the beloved guests of the day before. During the day this was cleaned up as well as possible because this was too much for the regular cleaning staff. In the afternoon we were confronted with a new event in the hotel namely a communion with a lunch in the restaurant and bar. We decided to go to the beach to avoid the hotel again. When I asked the manager if they had given me the right room he reacted anoyed. I tried again by showing him a picture of my view and he confirmed that this is what I paid for. I didn't react anymore because I realized that this person had no clue on how to handle disappointed guests and he had absolutely no idea what the word service stands for. We didn't ask for anything special or a discount or whatever but not being taken serious was the main irritation that we had. Our advice: please check in advance if the hotel has no events and due to the manager we say that this is hotel is 2 star worthy.
