ホスタルアプキャワリナ(Hostal Apu Qhawarina)

No water supply to the bathroom, dishonest staff. I checked in late with a lady who may be the owner and paid for my 7 night stay in full as required using a bank card. I went to the room and discovered that there was no water supply to the bathroom. I spoke to the staff who said its not an issue, there are water supply problems in the area and in the morning all should be ok - the water supply issue wasn't mentioned when I checked in. The next morning there was still no water supply so brushig teet, showering, and flushing the toilet were not possible which was quite unsanitory. I decided it was best to find alternative accomodation. I asked the lady who'd checked me in for a refund for the remainder of my stay - I thought it reasonable to pay for the one night I had spent there despite the water situation. She said she can't refund the card payment due to some technical issue she failed to elaborate on so I suggested she withdraw cash from the local ATM. She agreed but said she can't do this until 11am (it was around 8 am at the time) - I gave her the benefit of the doubt. At about 9am I saw her return to the hostel, she had been out somewhere so her inabilty to withdraw cash from the ATM (no more than 2 mins walk from the hostel) seemed to be inaccurate. I went out for breakfast - while out I spoke to the locals and understood that there was the previously mentioned ATM which was operational but also another which was known by all to not be working. At 10am I decided enough was enough and asked the kady to withdraw the money so I could check out and move on. I walked with her to the ATM but she went straight for the one which didn't work and feigned ignorance when it didn't work. I got annoyed and told her that I was very aware of the ATN which was working and that I wanted my money. She walked straight over to the working ATM (I stayed by her side) and withdrew the cash. There was much dishonesty in her delaying tactics as if she were hoping I would give up and stay. I would not recommend a stay at Apu Hostel due to the unacceotable conditions and dishonest staff.

Very good breakfast. Hot water for shower wasn’t available at night but the next morning it was. I would stay again.

Quiet spot frequented by locals, clean and new, a great bargain for Ollantaytambo. Beds are spacious and comfortable, internet is solid, and the family who run the place are super friendly.

Es un buen lugar para hosped****, habitacion amplia y muy limpia, tiene netflix y son nuy amables. El desayuno muy completo y delicioso. Me prestaron secador de cabello y plancha de ropa. Gracias por todo!

Aunque sólo pasamos una noche en este Hostel, podemos estar seguros de recomendarlo para cualquier viajero que pase por Ollantaytambo. En nuestro caso, pasamos la noche aquí ya que al día siguiente teníamos el tren a Machu Picchu. La habitación muy agradable y el trato fue buenísimo. Incluso, fueron más allá de nuestras expectativas y nos ayudaron en temas de coordinación de nuestro viaje. Totalmente recomendado.

No está mal , es un hostal tampoco se puede pedir mucho… tiene tv y netflix punto positivo… lo de habitación con vistas a la montaña no es verdad, están tapadas por un edificio . El personal es atento.
