I have had a stay here for 14 days. I had a very good experience especially with Jonior, he gave me incredible service and followed me up to the hotel. If he had been in Norway, I would have hired him in my company. cheerful and hardworking. The dinner is ok, not bufet.

I LOVED my experience at this hotel! It was in a perfect location and the rooms were really nice and clean. The staff were amazing. Thank you to Queen, Anita, Abdul, Anastasia, Leon, Elly, Emmanuel, Chriss, Hemed, Othman and Fred! I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Bad experience starting from the poorly looked after staff, terrible food, the bars often lack "beer" drinks above all... the lax and lackadaisical management... the only pleasant memory? The little African mouse that was unfortunately released today in the Ligurian countryside because it infiltrated my suitcase upon departure. Bathroom towels? We spread a pitiful veil... right from the first day... as if they had never been washed with stains better not to be described.

Fantastic place to stay. Great food very comfortable, right on the beach, clean and great shower and aircon. I stayed in a few other hotels in Zanzibar and were nowhere near as good as this. The staff were great. Paje beach itself was superb. Reminded me a bit of Thailand 25 years ago! Loved it

Best bits first. The staff were amazing. Always smiling, happy,friendly & fun. They made a fuss of my husband on his birthday singing happy birthday on the beach & dressed up our room. Hotel in a lovely position on a lovely white sandy beach. The rating is 5 star but I would rate it 3/4 star. The food wasn’t good. Hot food was kept covered but the cold food, salad, meats, fruit & desserts was laid out on 2 islands in a room in the restaurant but uncovered in 34degree heat. They should have been kept under cover in cool spaces. Everything was covered in flies. So I decided it was not a good idea to eat them. They had themed food nights which were in a different area. Neither eating area had fans. Which I think if they did, it would deter the flies. We actually stopped eating lunch in the restaurant as it was a fly fest. We couldn’t understand why we had to pay for drinks on the themed food evenings, and could only buy wine with our food, not spirits. And not allowed to take drinks in. The room…It had a ceiling fan which worked when it felt like it, in between the constant power cuts. I hate air conditioning (and have ended up with a sore throat & cold) and would have preferred the fan. We told the manager about that & the poor water pressure in the shower, he offered for us to change rooms but I didn’t want to pack everything etc. we chatted to another couple who said they had the same problem in their room. There’s a hairdryer fitted in the bathroom, but it’s a cheapy thing that just (barely) blows out hot or hotter air. And that in an already damp hot bathroom isn’t ideal. I would have expected a better quality hairdryer. We stayed 2 nights in Neela Boutique hotel in Stone Town, a sister hotel to the Monica and it was definitely 5 star and not like Monica. Saying all that, it was lovely. 5 star staff, 3/4 star facilities & food.

Amazing place! Our first exotic holiday and the bar has been set really high. Delicious food, especially seafood and Swahili dinner. Kind and smily crew. Hotel is located close to the beach (100 meters from reception desk). Despite completely no risk from locals, security 24/7 checks beach and entrance of the hotel. We really recommend entertainment team Lukas and Shaaban. They did their best to convince visitors to play games (like table tennis, Bao game, uno, bingo) Hope guys get great contract quickly!

It is a very nice hotel at a best location on all island. The beachline is incredible, clean and probably most beautiful since we travelled whole island. The staff was very friendly. The only bad thing was the food. There is a very little menu choice and not necessarily delicious so we had a little bit of strugle. The hotel just needs a good head chef to make a better menu with more variety since it is a 5 star hotel. But anyways everything else was wonderfull!

I really enjoyed my stay the location was great.All my family enjoyed the food very fresh and tasty.The entertainment was great thanks to carlos I highly recommend the hotel for anyone wishing for a lovely retreat

Positives: Good location, tasty meals and friendly staff. Negatives: The all-inclusive package is misleading as only some drinks are included in the package and others are paid; even if some bewerages like tomato juice are on the menu they are usually unavailable; the staff in general lacks a bit of creative thinking as eg. there is coke zero available in the main restaurant but at the beach bar it is out of stock (what is the problem of bringing some more bottles to the beach bar, knowing that it is in use for the majority of the day?); the choice of food in the restaurant is not overwhelming (like you might know it from some other all-inclusive resorts, nevertheless the food is tasty) It was a nice stay, the weather was great but I wouldnt say it’s a 5 star hotel.
