ナイトキャップ アット オーシャン ビーチ ホテル(Nightcap at Ocean Beach Hotel)

This was the 4 th time we’ve had an overnight stay to Ocean Beach Hotel. Almost every time has had a problem: the room’s hot water did not work, the power went out, and this time our room had an area of carpet that was saturated with water resulting in a strong musty smell in room. Each time the staff were apologetic and did try to rectify the situation. Certainly no fault of the staff on duty. This time we were offered a room change due to the smell, but by then it was late, we had unpacked and showered and were in our pj’s. so we declined the offer, thinking we’d get used to the musty smell. and I discovered the wet carpet afterwards. It’s a shame because the hotel is well located in town, has reasonable meals in the bistro downstairs, offers guests a free drink voucher, has off street parking, easy to get to… I understand that booking through booking platforms probably limits the options a manager has when things go wrong. It would go a long way, though, to be offered a discount on a future stay, for example. I suspect we have just had bad luck and it doesn’t mean we won’t stay again because we travel to Umina to visit family and the hotel is very convenient.

It’s really close to the beach and shops. Awesome location. The rooms have a bad smell and cleaned properly with professional equipment. Air conditioning is the best . Right next to Woolies, so can grab stuff easily.

Friendly and helpful staff, quiet, food was good. Just a walk to most needed items.

I was told before the stay the band would finish at 7pm on Saturday evening. In fact, the band finished soon after 11pm.

Hotel was actually fine. However, we travelled with our young son,the room was directly above the pub, we could hear drunk patrons swearing and shouting in the early hours of the morning. Not that family friendly for that reason.

Was pleasant, nothing flash but beds were comfortable and food downstairs was beautiful. Would go back no issues.
