If you want an authentic, old-school European hotel/pensione experience, the Hostal Pons is for you! It is in a gorgeous Mallorcan home on a quiet sidestreet in the historic centre of Palma. You feel like you're entering another world as soon as you step through the heavy wooden doors. You walk up a flight of beautifully tiled stairs to get to reception, where you can see some of the beautiful and historic old living rooms of the house. Our double room was spacious, simply furnished, with a walk-in dressing area and a window onto the open-air stairwell (yes, there was occasional noise from other guests arriving and departing, but much less than we expected). We shared a bathroom, which was never an issue, even though the hotel was full. (And don't worry, the hotel is old and charming, but the bathroom was modern, tiled, and seemingly cleaned several times a day.) The neighbourhood is great-- you are a short stroll from good coffee, bakeries, restaurants, the Cathedral etc but the street itself is quiet. Hostal Pons probfably isn't for everyone-- if you like ultra modern hotel rooms with A/C, you will probably be happier elsewhere. But if you want to feel like you are staying in a beautiful Mallorcan home from the 1900s.... or experience a throwback to what European travel used to be like before hotel chains, give it a go.

Loved the style of the property. Room was okay, nice and clean, shower & toilet new and fresh. Only problem was on the steps(2 of) to the shower (I was in room 19) there is a sharp piece of pipe protruding from the riser and it caught my bare foot and made a bad cut. I'm only raising this as I left early in the morning and could not relay the message. Hopefully this can be made safe for future visitors.

Very nice hostel in the city center of the Old town. I would like to recommend this place to everyone. Great service.

I love Victoria! She is nice, always smiles and helps you anyway possible. Thank you so much! The only problem is that It was boiling hot in Palma and there is no aircondition. The room was like a sauna. Had to go to cold shower three times during the night but It helped only for few minutes.

I am an experienced traveler who normally only books 5 star accommodation but as this was my first trip without family and only sleeping two nights I'd thought I'd try what the youngsters do and must admit I'm so glad I did. Not an easy place to find and from outside I was regretting my decision but as soon as I was buzzed in I was hit with the charm of the place. A lovely young chap showed me to my room which was small but clean and perfectly fine. I requested a fan as I knew it would be very warm at night and the aforementioned chap went and got me one. My bathroom and separate toilet was shared with a total of four rooms and they looked brand new Victorian style. They were kept immaculate during my stay. The hostel has a lovely open garden area and although small it was cool and private and perfect before a naughty cigarette before bedtime. The hostel's location is very close to the sea at in the middle of the art district and I loved walking around in the evening where there are plenty of restaurants and bars. In conclusion, for two nights it was perfect but any longer and an old timer like me I would require an air-conditioned room. If you are on a budget and don't mind the basics then this is a perfect choice. Thank you Hostel Pons.

Victoria and Gerard are friendly, great at offering good suggestions for local food and attractions. The hotel is a sympathetically converted old residence, with unique features and decor. Overall a very pleasant stay with exceptional hosts.

Really beautiful and old fashioned Mallorcan place. The whole house itself is stunning! Very close to all of the main attractions in Palma and very easy to get to using the A1 airport bus. The whole place is spotless and the shared bathrooms were always super clean and tidy. I slept really well here as it was so quiet. Victoria was very attentive and a wonderful host! Thanks so much for a brilliant stay 😊
