We enjoyed our stay here. It’s a nicely renovated hotel with apartment-style rooms. It was clean and well maintained. Zack from the hotel was very communicative and friendly. Just a note to double check which room you’re booking if you want a washer/dryer. Not all rooms include one if that is important to you. There is a laundromat a block over tho if you need it.
The area is very much a neighbourhood of people living their normal lives and not a busy tourist area, giving us a more laid back feel. The area has a variety of people and restaurants and shops and farmers market 2-3x a week.
Some areas around the hotel were kind of sketch tho. There was a lot of graffiti and garbage in the streets, and homeless or otherwise challenged people which made us a little uneasy going out later at night or to certain areas. Be aware of your surroundings.
The transit for the area is good, however, the main metro #11 was closed for maintenance the whole time we were there, so making transit plans took some extra time and manoeuvring. Not the hotel’s fault, but just a heads up to people looking in the area.
