ファミリア ホテル(Familia Hotel)

Positives: Great location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable. Negatives: Very compact. The hotel is in an great location, it was an easy walk to Notre Dame and on to the rest of Paris. There are lots of lovely places to eat nearby. The staff were all friendly and very accommodating of our our poor french. We stayed on the top floor which gave us lovely views from the balcony. The room itself was very compact, especially the bathroom, I am 6 foot tall and barely fit between the toilet and the wall. Despite being small, the room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Overall we had a great time here and would happily stay again.

I found myself in Paris on a work trip and added a few days to the journey. I don't spend much time in my room when I travel and like to venture about on foot. My travel agent asked me to check out Hotel Familia for her and it did not disappoint. Reasonably priced basic hotel in a GREAT neighborhood. It is in the Latin Quarter near the Sorbonne, so it has something of the vibe of an American college town: Lots of restaurants and bars, easy walking, and a fun little shop or 2. Metro close by. 10 minute walk from Notre Dame. I booked a single so the room was tiny and I can't speak to the size of others but it's quite old so am guessing most rooms are small. It's a 2-star hotel, which means no concierge or bar or lounge, but I had a boiler for coffee and a room safe so was fine. I do hope Wilson (Wilton?) the delightful desk clerk stays forever: He was very friendly and helpful, knew the area, and was fun to chat with. I moved to the very-American airport Hilton the night before I flew home and while the room was larger and the place better appointed, I missed the Hotel Familia. I would return to this hotel.

Spent one night (2 days) in Paris. The room given to us was clean and comfortable and had a little terrace with a table and 2 chairs. Closest metro was Cardinal Lemoine 3 mins walk and there's a bakery just opposite the hotel where we got croissants etc. As we arrived early we left our bag at the hotel reception (staff were polite and helpful). There's a bus stop on the other side of the road - around 150 m to the left of the hotel called Maubert mutualite where we took bus 86 (Champs de Mars) to tour eiffel - you get up at the last stop. Getting back is a bit trickier- bus stop on the other side of the road where we got off but we stopped too early - I think it should have been Monge instead of Maubert. We then had a 10-15 mins walk back to the hotel. Walking distance to Notre Dame de Paris which was still under renovation- until December 2024 we were told. Also walked to Louvres and tuileries gardens from Notre Dame.

Old and dated hotel with very small rooms. Only good thing is the location. Staff are not great, one woman was unkind on first interaction but the. Slowly warmed up, all 3 male front desk staff were rude, dismissive and barely acknowledged me.

The staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel itself is beautiful. This is a historic building, so although old, it is well maintained and has all the charm of buildings well crafted long ago. The rooms are small, but the beds are comfortable and the bathroom newly renovated. I loved the location within walking distance of Notre Dame cathedral. Highly recommend! I will return.

The Familia Hotel was in close proximity to the train & there were many restaurants nearby. The room was small but it was a 2 star hotel so that’s to be expected. Staff were friendly & efficient. Would stay again because of the location.

This is a charming small hotel on the Rive Gauches. Staff is friendly and English is spoken. Rooms are immaculate. The shower was the best of my 3 week trip to Europe. Rooms are small but I have stayed in much smaller ones and paid more. The breakfast was good, although for the price, I’d you’ve got the time you may enjoy a cafe just as well. Easy one block walk to Metro and buses/taxis easily available across the street.
