What a beautiful place! Homey feel, gorgeous gardens, nice pool, stunning views and wildlife, and never crowded; the only intrusion into your space will be the friendly, adorable dogs. Sylvia is an amazing innkeeper, who was extremely accommodating and appeared to care deeply about guests having a good experience. Andrea is also fabulous. Some of the nicest people. Although the location is remote, there are things to do; Sylvia suggested we take a mangrove tour from right next door; it was just us on the boat to ourselves, with no other boats nearby, and lots of birds, monkeys, and other animals. It was serene and magical. The location also works for a daytrip to Manuel Antonio. The rooms were simple and rustic; you'd be disappointed if hoping for something refined or pristine. The beach is gorgeous for long walks at low tide; soft sand and almost no people. However, erosion and sea level rise has clearly impacted it greatly and it is inches from flooding at high tide. Clearly, this hotel will not be able to survive all that much longer, but it's amazing place to visit now, while its years are numbered.
