Great bed with fluffy pillows. The bar restaurant is great and the waitstaff friendly. So close to the airport you could walk! The staff greeted me and made me feel welcome, even though I was traveling by myself for business. Shower was very powerful and the bath products are nice.
We were attending a training seminar and this hotel was chosen for us. Having only been in Pasco once before, we had no expectations of this property. It was awful. The lobby is actually nice, and the front desk staff was nice. That’s where the positivity ends. Our room was in Wing 2, in the back of the hotel. We parked by the rear entrance, entered the foyer and found the elevator not working. A custodian happened to be in the foyer. We asked about the elevator. He said that it had been out of service as long as he could remember. He told us there was another elevator at the far end of the wing if we wanted to walk down there. We chose to climb the stairs, but some people would have difficulty with hauling bags, etc up flights of stairs. So that was our first impression. Not great. We get to the room. Calling it bare bones minimalist is being very kind. It’s a big room, lots of space. Empty space. There is a bed, one small chair, a half desk and a credenza. At least a third of the room is empty, and it feels kind of odd. The room is set up to be adjoining to the one next door. There is a door between them. The door has a gap underneath that’s at least an inch and a half, maybe even two inches wide. Evidently the room, which now has wood floors, at one time had carpet. When the carpet was removed there was no accommodation made for the difference in height of the floor. The light from next door comes through the gap and reflects on the wall across from the door. Voices from next door are easy to hear. Another not great impression. Remodeling not finished or followed through with. Overall the room was clean and we wouldn’t be there long so we decided to keep it. That night we wished we had changed rooms, or even hotels. The king size bed was soft, lumpy, creaky, and had big ruts on both sides. Horrible to try to sleep on. And the noise from next door didn’t help matters. And, a big deal to my husband, there was NO COFFEE MAKER. The last straw was breakfast. It’s a typical continental breakfast, so that wasn’t the problem. The attendant was checking room keys to make sure no one was sneaking in for free food. It appeared some people, like my husband and I, were treated politely and welcomed to the buffet, while others were treated poorly. Almost confrontationally. It did not leave a good impression. Besides the issues listed above, there are few options for food nearby. The hotel restaurant is only open for the breakfast buffet so getting lunch and dinner requires driving. The few positive aspects of this hotel are that it is close to the airport, close to the freeway and has lots of parking. All in all, this is a beat up, unpleasant place to stay. We will choose another hotel if we happen to be in Pasco in the future.
