This is a premium boutique hotel in a central location, close to town, beach, train station and approx 15mins from the airport. The hotel is fresh and clean but the most appealing part of the stay for us was the staff and the food. From the moment we arrived (Susannah at reception) everyone we met was so pleasant, friendly and keen to ensure our comfort at all times. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant- both were superb - catering etc is to a very high standard with attention to detail. Overall, an excellent place to stay and to eat.

My friend and I, had spent many holidays at the Victoria and Belmont Brend Hotels at Sidmouth and we were looking forward to spending 4 nights in the Royal Duchy at Falmouth. We arrived to brilliant sunshine and welcoming staff in reception and had very nice single rooms overlooking the sea. We had chosen half board and were looking forward to our evening meal. Sadly the dinners did not come up to expectations of the AA Rosettes. The fish swam in a watery sauce, Duck that was chewy and overcooked, Sirloin steak, chips OK, but only1 mushroom Kale, loads of watercress Overall the lack of nice vegatables was appalling. Deserts !!!! On our first two nights the deserts we ordered were not available we were told we were unlucky because everyone had chosen the same our 3rd choice had been put aside Sticky toffee pudding, it was a shame the Pudding was stone cold and just about defrosted. Coffee was not included in the deal so there was no atmosphere in the lounge and the ”icing on the cake” the free glass of wine I was given was on my final bill. It certainly was not worth the £330 we paid per night very disappointing.
