ボルゴ サンタンブロージョリゾート(Borgo Sant'Ambrogio - Resort)

We have used this place for five nights as a hub to do day trips to explore Val d‘Orcia, Siena etc. and made a perfect choice! This is a wonderful tranquil place, not too big with a good amount of privacy and extremely well managed. The rooms are well appointed and have spectacular views. On top of it, the Hotel has a very nice restaurant with excellent cuisine and very good service. We ended up there 4 out of 5 times. Needless to say that whenever we return to Tuscany we will stay with Lucia and her team at Borgo Sant‘Ambrogio

Warning - Do not pay to stay!! You are being warned! It’s an overdue honest feedback and review!! We are business people on an international holiday - but you don’t seem to care! We spent 2 days at your property - called a resort. Borgo Santam Brogio — has no doubt been the worst experience in our 7 weeks of travel in Italy. We request an immediate refund this week and no later. A negative honest review - poor and below average experience of your property and manager. 1/ New Years Eve 2023 I/ we arrived and walked up to reception. The older women “scowled” at me just for standing and waiting for my family! She did NOT greet me or us!! Disgusting service! In fact, she “hated seeing the sight of us arriving”, so she didn’t get off her bum to greet us! 2/ New Years Eve 2023 we arrived…we requested we would like dinner as it was a bit late and we had travelled. The old woman - manager ignored our request for dinner in the restaurant unless we pay only over $200 euros each! Pathetic! Terrible! …. She NEVER let us know in advance - before we arrived this was the case at all. No warning nothing about the NYE dinner scam when we asked her a day beforehand!! So we kindly asked her to accomodate us for dinner, or take away in our room of food and she ignored us. She argued with us on New Year’s Eve and was hopeless in service and making us feel sooo bad as paying people!! The manager - did not care!! We as a family had to leave the “resort” and drive at 6pm to the next town 20 minutes away … to buy bananas for dinner for New Years Eve!! She was so rude and no apologies! Get rid of her. The google reviews below are not isolated incidents! She’s been in the job 2 years too long! She was the worst person ever with no empathy or care! Zip!! No leadership skills and she should “NEVER EVER” be on the front desk serving people! 3/ Our room! Toilet didn’t work! Leaking ceiling Spiders in our room! The toilet seat - moves all over the place - broken! 4/ Upon leaving! I said to the young guy at the front desk, if we do not hear from you regarding, our “full refund of accomodation”. Still not heard back! Disgusting service. 5/ You can hear the cleaners argue in the rooms! Poor management. People are not happy! Your so called #quietluxury Is a joke!! noisy, and horrible to stay. It is not a resort It is not quiet. It is not welcoming It is dated It needs renovating It’s need a deep clean, it’s dirty. It needs new staff It needs a new attitude! We are travelling in Italy for 3 more days. If I have not had a speedy fast response of a full refund. You have been warned. Ghetti Edwardo and Your Board of Directors in Rome. Firstly, to put this into perspective, we have stayed at many places and never left a negative review before....Some of the reviews have commented on the unwelcoming experience at reception and this was consistent with our experience.  After we had booked we were asked if we wanted an expensive set menu for New Years eve.  We declined and were followed up again the day before we arrived when we declined again and were told we needed to reserve a place for dinner before arriving.  When we arrived we were told that a table was available but only if we wanted the set menu.  Keep in mind that the property is in an isolated area so this leaves no other options for eating. We asked politely (a few times - eg on arrival and then after settling into the room) if there was any flexibility. Eg could we choose a couple of the dishes from the set menu etc.  The attitude we received was very unfriendly. We clearly conveyed that we were keen to find some way to avoid having to drive to find food but the receptionist did not care. We were ultimately advised our best option was to make a round trip (in the dark, partially on unsealed roads) of about 40 minutes to the nearest supermarket to buy some cold food.   Only once we had departed on that trip did the hotel decide we could order some pasta.  However, as we had left and did not have mobile phone coverage we only learnt of this on arriving back at the property. The person at reception was completely unapologetic. Cap this off by a toilet that constantly ran water into the toilet bowl (fixed the next day as reception is not manned 24 hours) and a water leak from the ceiling that dripped on your head constantly when you went to the toilet (known issue prior to our arrival but the hotel was waiting for a repair person/part to resolve - this was not fixed during our stay (nor advised to us on checking in) and the hotel was again indifferent to how disgusting this was).  All in all the attitude of the hotel management to guests was not 'luxury' (as the place describes itself) and was the worst we have experienced. Note we have deliberately said management/the reception person as the other staff were friendly.

excellent place, views are stunning, service is really good. Rooms are very clean and large. restaurant on site very convenient because is off the path…. i would add a lounge/bar area to be and maybe have some drinks… but its a great place. i highly recommend.

It’s an incredible and wonderful Place. We loved it. Comfortable, quiet, very beautiful. We can’t wait to come back. Breakfast is amazing. Many kinds of choices and delicious. It was a great surprise. It’s close to Pienza and a nice drive. We’ll be back soon.

Wow what an incredible place! Stunning location. Great base to explore the region. Clean and tidy rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Amazing food open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We are travelling with our 1.5 yr old and they were very accommodating for our baby too. The most peaceful beautiful place we have ever stayed.

My husband and stayed here for 6 nights after walking a segment of the Via de Francesca . Cannot rate it highly enough . Great staff great food . Stunning location with view to Pienza . Lovely swimming pool though still too cool to really use when we were there . Highly recommend.

Lovely hotel with amazing views of the valley, conveniently located near to Pienza and Montepulciano. The restaurant was great, offering local foods typical of the area though they are strict about reserving in advance even as a guest. The real standout was the staff, very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Wish we spent more time by the pool and on property as it was perfectly tranquil and scenic.

This is one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever stayed - stunning views , very clean , amazing breakfast made with the freshest of ingredients - something new and delicious every day ! We also had dinner here twice - and it did not disappoint ! great location for visiting around southern Tuscany - Great hospitality from Fabrizio and David and the lovely lady who served our cappuccino daily ! The pool with its stunning views is lovely - we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in Tuscany and this place was one of the main reasons - when we return I’d definitely stay here again !! Stop thinking about it and book - it is worth every penny and will give you a true Tuscan experience !!
