Hotel Villa Basil

Stayed here for a week this time and the hotel is still a great place to stay But there was a issue with sunbeds everyone putting towels on them then not even stitting on them till late afternoon at best. plus some put towels on the sunbeds in the morning shaded area ready for the afternoon sun over that side then sit on the other side in the morning in the sun taking up more beds this has never ever been a problem before here then you have bernie and his wife at the pool bar great people work very hard day and night they serve great food great prices and stathis on receptionis a great friend and will help you with anything

Excellent small family run hotel , very clean, fantastic staff , rooms good size, great shower in bathroom, would definitely recommend and will revisit Pool area clean with plenty of sun beds , great location, close to beach and town centre and restaurants and bars Very quiet with double glazing and mosquito nets on all windows

Small, friendly, beautifully clean hotel in superb location. We were checked in quickly to room 19 which was large, immaculately clean and has a bathroom with good sized shower and balcony overlooking the bar. Aircon worked well and safe was only 16Eu for 11 nights. The pool area is spacious and cleaned each day with plenty of sunbeds, typically lots of towels out early but we always found a bed just had to wait for the sun for an hour or so. The location is excellent 5 mins slow walk to the beach and ten mins to the highstreet, there are a number of good tavernas nearby (Trente Nova, Avli, Aliotiko) and a couple of supermarkets at the end of the (short) road. Most of all it was very quiet and peaceful with no noise at all from any nearby bars. Bernie and Jeanette run the pool bar, both were friendly and serve ice cold drinks throughout the day. The food leans very much to English with reportedly great breakfast, not my ideal on holiday abroad so mostly ate lunch at the beach bars overlooking the sea. For the price this was a great hotel would like to return.

Rather hesitant to write such a positive review as this place is very popular, However the staff and the hotel location truly deserve a great review. Stathis and his front desk team are excellent, from the friendly check in, to sorting ant requests to ordering taxis. Rooms are basic but immaculately cleaned (our cleaner did commend us on the general tidiness of our room! (14). Nice powerful walk in shower. Excellent quiet (free) air con. air con. Special note to Bernie and the gang at Bernie's Inn. Food great, and Drinks at competitive prices, so please try and support their small business you are there! Top tip: if you want a take away sandwich they do a fabulous 'Substantial Bap' as we jokingly named it for the flight home, made even fresher than the ones at local shops, well wrapped and a bargain at 4E. Our stay here was exceptional all the bedding was changed regular and the room we had was a two bedroom quad and was spotless. We had issues with air con unit and it was changed instantly and I mean the whole unit no stress and whilst we were out very professional. One of our biggest favourites was the little independent pool bar called Bernie’s inn which served a great breakfast and all sorted foods and lovely cold beers cocktails ice creams milkshakes and cold drinks ect for all the family. Run by Bernie and wife jannet who in our mind made the holiday just that little bit better with all they done for us thanks guys. We will go back here as we enjoyed the quiet times set out if you need it but generally a great family site many thanks to all the staff for making this a pleasant stay

We stayed, along with our friends at the Hotel Villa Basil from 18th June for one week. From the moment we arrived Stathis was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble for him or any of the staff at the hotel. The accommodation was spot on, lovely large rooms, decent walk-in shower, plenty of storage space and a small kitchenette area with fridge. Air con was provided and a small fee of 10.00 euros for the safe, which I thought was reasonable. There was a lift to the upper floors (we stayed in room 31) and everything was extremely clean and tidy. Our room was made up every day with clean towels, linens etc. The hotel is situated just a short stroll from the beach and also from shops, bars and restaurants. However the area is really peaceful and we slept soundly every night. The beds were quite firm, however they were fine for us, and when one of our party was struggling with a firm mattress, she returned to her room to find a lovely bouncy mattress topper had been added to her bed, which was a nice touch. The pool area is lovely, well maintained with plenty of sun beds available for the guests. Overall I cannot fault Hotel Villa Basil and would certainly return. There is a small snack bar called 'Bernies Inn' located in the pool area, but from what I understand this is run independently. Although Bernie and his daughter were delightful, I have to say the service overall was good in general, however I think things could have been better (the cocktails left a little to be desired) but to be fair, the bar had not been open very long, so perhaps they were still finding their feet. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend Hotel Villa Basil.

These apartments are superb and cleaned every day except Sunday .The bedding was changed at least 7 times over 2 weeks and towels sometimes after I use.The pool and sunbeds are lovely although you get the usual towels left with no one on themThere was plenty of umbrellas to shade you from the sun.Will definitely return again

Room was clean and cleaned regularly. Air conditioning was good and free, didn’t realise how unusual this was until talking to other couples in the resort. Pool area was clean and the hotel staff very friendly. There is a lovely poor bar with decent food and engaging owners. Location is great, quiet but close to everything I would stay again

This review is actually for Bernie’s Inn at Villa Basil. By far the best English breakfast we have ever had In Tsilivi so if you’re looking for ‘proper’ mushrooms, thick bacon, perfect eggs, plenty of beans then please get yourself down to Bernie’s. It’s fabulous! Open to all :0)
