ザ・カルメンホテル - オーシャン フロント(The Carmen Hotel - Ocean Front)

This AWESOME hotel is so much better than 4 stars! The love of my life and I were greeted by the most wonderful check in host! Her name is Lupita! She was so sweet and kind and made checkin the most pleasant ever! Words alone cannot even describe our room! EVERYTHING was PERFECT! We were looking for a beachfront property with also a nice pool and the rooftop pool and restaurant here also deserves 6 stars! If you are a couple you are wasting your time by staying anywhere else but here in Playa Del Carmen!

This property is central to the downtown core area, however, it’s not as clean as the photos online. There’s no parking available so it makes it difficult to get to the hotel when the streets are closed and then you have to pay to park nearby for $250 pesos a day. The free breakfast is unclear. We got different information from two different waiters. The first day my breakfast order took 45 mins and was wrong and cold. There’s no happy hour that we saw and definitely no mezcal tasting as advertised. Also, be prepared to pay $19.99 usd per person per night for these “extra” services that are not worth it. I’m not sure we would return. The beach out front is also very tiny and not worth it.

The hotel is gorgeous and the staff very accessible and kind. There is a club on top of the hotel that can be fun, but you can hear the music in the rooms and it’s non stop EDM. If that’s your thing, this place is perfect. It’s right on the ocean and right off the main tourist *****. Close walk to the bus station and taxi area.

The Carmen was an excellent choice for us. Nice little beach club, lots of great dining options nearby, super friendly and helpful staff. Not a quiet area for those thst want that but we enjoy music snd didnt mind it. Great breakfasts! We would love to come back! Thanks Carmen Hotel!

Loved the location and the service was awesome. Every morning a healthy breakfast ocean view starts the day out right. The room had a amazing view with a pool on top of the roof overlooking ocean. I differently would stay there again. Our stay 7 nights. Thank you 👍 jk and sk

We booked the partial view room and it was just as the photos showed on their website! It exceeded all of our expectations! The staff were so sweet, helpful and accommodating. The room was clean and spacious and the view was gorgeous! We would sit out on the balcony every morning and night listening to the waves! Would highly recommend staying here if you get the chance!!!

Extremely attentive and helpful staff. Courtesy, comfort were key. The property is conveniently located to beach & 5th Ave.
