The lodge itself was kept very clean. Very spacious. Huge deck with a big bonfire pit that was utilized one night for a barbar(hope I got that right). The spa was very nice with a pool out in front. I was in one of the river view chalets. Out of this world!!! My ranger and tracker were very knowledgeable and I became friends with my ranger, Ruben. He took me out one morning for a bush walk. Highly recommend it.

Wow. Absolutely awesome. My husband and I just got back from a weekend at Amakhosi. The location on the banks of the Mhkuze River is spectacular. The staff go above and beyond to ensure that our every need is catered for. The chalets are beautiful and luxurious. The food is delicious. But the highlight of our trip was definitely our game drives with our ranger, King, and our tracker, Zac. They are so in tune with the bush and ensured we had a spectacular experience. Thank you again for an amazing weekend. We will definitely be back.

Out of this world experience!! Amakhosi lodge is the place to go! We can’t rate highly enough!! An amazing holiday we had, the staff are attentive and the rooms are beautiful. A huge thank you to ranger Jacques and tracker Zach for making memorable moments, and not forgetting Muzi and Zinhle for looking after us in the lodge (and accommodating my sons fussy eating !!)

From the moment you arrive you know this is going to be special. The service, the staff the food all were amazing. Probably the best ever. Add in game drives and the experience / encounters with the BIG 5 makes this the most wonderful and enchanting place. I have to say this was the trip of a lifetime. We will be back.

best lodge ever !!! delicious food , cozy beds, perfect service , wonderful landscape, everything was perfect. the safaris were so beautiful. the heating blanket also 🤭 we weren‘t there the last time. we definetly will visit amakhosi again!!!

From the moment we arrived, until the moment we left, we were treated as family. The rooms were beautiful and I was not expecting the quality of food that was presented. Dinner was romantic and presented like a gourmet restaurant. Our guides Reuben and Mandla were professional and clearly cared for the animals and their environment. We saw 4 of the big 5 on our first drive! I felt safe at all times. And can we talk about the hot water bottles and blankets to keep us warm? Heaven at 6 am! I went to the spa twice and that was amazing as well. Thank you for the memories.

Excellent safari, food and experience. Everyone went above and beyond to ensure we had the best time. We enjoyed the lion cubs and seeing all the rhinos. Rueben and Mangla - knowledgeable and a great team to track the animals. Thank you for a great experience and making our trip memorable.

Where do I begin, to tell the story of an amazing weekend ☺ Perhaps...with the food, which is outstanding and on a par with the very best tasting menus at Michelin Star restaurants. Then there is the diversity of the bush - from beautiful river settings (and exciting river crossings), to ravines with the chance of spotting a leopard, to ridges from which you can see forever. You will definitely see 4 of the Big Five, up close and personal, and if you're lucky you could be treated to a leopard - the animals are in extremely good condition and well spread across the Park, which makes for interesting game drives and conversations with knowledgeable Game Rangers and Trackers who clearly love what they do. Oh, almost forgot to mention our ‘5 Star’ chalet - totally private, beautiful interior design, loads of space and a deck with a view of the river, for when you're lounging in your hammock. From the time we arrived until we left, all we experienced were genuine smiles from staff in all areas of Amakhosi. It is SO tranquil in this special part of the world - from the hammock on your patio, you can see animals grazing by the river and hundreds of birds singing in the trees. Our Ranger, Ralden, and tracker, Mandla were exceptional. Their knowledge of flora and fauna was brilliant, and they even got us into a position to see a mother cheetah chase and kill a Kudu in front of us and then called her 5 cubs to feast on the unfortunate Kudu (I managed to get the whole chase on camera). We saw 4 of the big 5, with only the elusive Leopard managing to keep away from our sites. The food was out of this world - definitely 5 star. So many different tastes and textures. We got to experience a very energetic Zulu dance in the onsite Kraal. The rooms were very comfortable and clean with all requirements taken care of.
