ザ ビッドウェル マリオット ポートランド(The Bidwell Marriott Portland)

Nice modern 4* hotel. Beware the hidden charges and extra costs, including a $30/day “destination fee” which is a total scam. And $50/day parking. They even charge you for wifi in the room. Very 2001.

Chose to stay here again after a previous stay. I was very impressed the first time and it was just as good this time too. The rooms and beds are very comfortable, great bathrooms with rainfall and detachable shower heads, lots of little conveniences (outlets, light control by the bed, etc). My only little gripe is that the bar/restaurant need to extend their hours. They open for breakfast, close for a few hours during the day, reopen for dinner, then close again by 10pm.

The Bidwell is a great property - amazing music, clean, eco-aware/prioritized (i.e. they have filtered water and you can use a pitcher from your room to fill up to avoid plastic bottles). We had access to the M club and Pedro was the most attentive and friendliest staff member I have encountered in some time. The gym is fantastic - lots of options and space. Our room had an amazing corner view with two sides of windows - really amazing views.

I would highly recommend this hotel for the service and the comfort alone. The bar on the 2nd floor is great. The location is perfect for walking around the pearl district, we didn’t have to use our vehicle at all during the stay. The upgrade to use the “M lounge” is worth it if you are looking for a bit of extra service from the already outstanding amenities.

There is a $25.00 USD destination fee that is automatically applied to everyday of your stay including the check in and out days. It can be used as a credit at the hotels restaurant or to upgrade to high speed wifi. This was not explained clearly upon check in and the staff were not forthcoming snd described the fee as a bonus when in reality you are paying out of pocket for it and it is not reimbursed if not used.

The service from the staff was great. Hotel was clean and housekeeping was also great. Restaurant was pricey, and food options around the hotel aren’t great, but the food was good, just expensive. Overall, good stay and would stay again.

The hotel was OK. What I didn't like is the "resort fee" ******* added to my bill which unfairly jacked up my rate. This hotel is in the city and definitely is not a resort. This is just another way to increase your profits and not do anything to earn it. I will never book another hotel or flight or anything else with *******. I will book directly and bypass your junk additional charges.

Nice hotel, clean and comfy beds and pillows but really horrible room service - pre-ordered breakfast the evening before using the mobile app as I had a meeting and wanted to eat breakfast while getting ready for the day - delivery requested for 7am and at 7:30 I called to check on it, the guy who answered was nasty to me, couldn't find my order and told me he wasn't an IT guy. Called the front desk and they showed my order on my room bill. Once I got that re-ordered, I didn't receive the fruit....but it' on my bill!! Having trouble getting that credited!! Also, don't have high expectations for having a cup of coffee in the morning using the Keurig in the room. They don't work and they will replace it with another one that doesn't work! They literally told they remove the broken ones and clean them and hope they work. BUT THEY DON'T! And even if it did get fixed, the cleaning crew doesn't replace the disposable cups for coffee. Have to call to get some delivered which shouldn't be the case! Rethinking my stay there in 2 weeks!

Staff was incredibly friendly, hotel was very modern with great amenities! We had valet service with unlimited in and out access which was perfect while exploring Portland.
