We travelled here for a long weekend from the UK. We had a studio apartment on the 3rd floor. Positives • The apartment was perfect for us and what we wanted/needed. The space and decor is edgy. • Central location in old town Porto - very close to everything walking wise • Our apartment was facing the road and had a lovely balcony with lovely views of Porto • Got a welcome bottle of Port and two free water bottles in the room • Good but basic amenities in the apartment but we didn't use the cooker or anything as we were out most of the time. Negatives • When we arrived, there was a sign on the front door saying "if you haven't told us your arrival time, call this number". We arrived around 3pm. Firstly, we didn't know we needed to let them know our arrival time and nor did we get emailed about this. Normally, hotels email beforehand asking for this information. • I called the number and got no response and no one was at the front desk. Luckily, someone (assuming the receptionist) saw us and opened the door for us. • The whole apartment building has a musty, damp, humid smell which is worse in the lifts. • The floorboards are far too noisy! We got woken up by the apartment above ours because of how loud the floorboards creek when people walk on them. • Our apartment door lock was really tough to unlock when we wanted to open the door. This definitely needs to be looked into. Overall, it's a great apartment in a super central location. However, if you get awoken easily then this place probably isn't for you because of how loud the floorboards creek.
