ボルゴ デル カラト(Borgo del Carato)

First, the location. It really is "remote" so going out to dinner at night is really not a great option. That said, one of the best things about this villa is the food - we had two very good dinners at the villa and the breakfast was also a nice spread, with many fine options. The rooms vary. We were placed in a very dark room with twin beds and a bathroom that sorely needed renovation. However, the staff was very accommodating and moved us to a bigger, more lighted room off the courtyard. However, the door wouldn't lock...so after about 25 minutes of trying to fix it, they just shaved off some of the door...and that did the trick! Also of note, septic systems are fragile at the villa, so they ask you not to put toilet paper down the toilet. Overall a nice stay but with a few tweaks to the upgrading of rooms and service at the pool, it could be a real gem for relaxing and taking in the Sicilian countryside.

A place to relax and unwind. A beautiful property and ambience with friendly staff. Pool and grounds are perfect. A good breakfast selection and some nice options for the quieter dinners in. Bathrooms need a bit of TLC since you expect a bit better from a place like this.

The place is a paradise with a nice and clean pool, a lot of greenery and spacious rooms. All very clean. The breakfast is fabulous with a great choice of items varying from home made cakes and croissants, bread, cold cuts etc. The owner is also very present and he ensures that guests are comfortable. We also opted for dinner every night at their restaurant since it was very convenient after a day out and they provide a 3 course meal which may also be tailored to your taste. After dinner one can stay in the lounge with owner putting on a real wood fireplace thus magic atmosphere. They also have great food options for kids. Highly recommended and we will return again!!

Found in the middle of nowhere, while cycling across Sicily. Lovely hotel, feels rustic, but tasteful modernised. Great pool. Staff really looked after us, evening meal was excent. Would certainly return.

This is a hotel in a renovated village. However it does not seem to have been completed. The rooms are dark without good lighting or electric outlets. Our room had a shelf and soap dispenser that were coming out of the wall. Large gaps between the entry door and the hallway. The beds were very basic, with thin hard mattresses. Unfinished tile on the floor. Toilets can’t accept toilet paper. The WiFi was very good. The restaurant and breakfast offerings were good. It has recently rained and the pool was muddy. This is the most basic hotel I have stayed in several decades. There must be better alternatives.

Dirty shower, bud restoration,pool full of dead bees,no AC in breakfast place with open windows in 38 Celsius and fly to entry in the breakfast !!! Parking outside of the perimeter of the hotel .There was plenty of space inside but was only for hotel managers car…. We desired to cancel the second day of stay and search a fair to stay place to go. The photos from reality if far away .

Das Hotel Borgo del Carato in Sizilien war eine fantastische Wahl! Alles war sehr sauber, angefangen von den Zimmern bis hin zum beeindruckenden Poolbereich. Das Zimmer selbst war großartig und bot einen angenehmen Aufenthalt. Der Pool war ein wahrer Traum und trug definitiv zur Entspannung bei. Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet und bot eine vielfältige Auswahl. Das Essen im Allgemeinen war extrem lecker und ließ keine Wünsche offen. Besonders beeindruckt hat mich das überaus freundliche Personal, das stets zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit war. Insgesamt war der Aufenthalt im Hotel Borgo del Carato eine unvergessliche Erfahrung, die ich jedem empfehlen würde, der nach einem erholsamen und qualitativ hochwertigen Urlaub sucht.

Non è il nostro primo soggiorno presso Borgo del Carato, bella struttura, bella piscina personale accogliente e gentile (forse un po’ carente di numero in certe situazioni). Il cibo sempre gradevole e di buona qualità! Peccato questa volta ci è stata assegnata una camera con pavimento in legno dove tra una trave ed un’altra era visibile la terra per cui ci siamo ritrovati con vari insetti che gironzolavano per la camera e a casa ci siamo portati una bella valigia piena di formiche! Peccato avrei volentieri assegnato 5 stelle.
