Perfect for the price. Like an Ibis actually. Small rooms like in Tokyo and very clean. Nice view to Angelopolis Mall. Breakfast included. Only issue is the noise . Not soundproof at all. Shower had a good pressure. Hot water good. Air conditioning directly into your direction. Big issue: only CNN (eeewww) but you aren’t here to watch tb anyway.Glad it was empty this weekend as you can’t sleep when you get other guests next to your room. It’s obviously not the Hilton but fulfills its purpose. Walmart Express next door.
Wonderful hotel! Beautiful architecture. It’s a hotel dedicated to wellness, and they do a great job. My husband stayed there couple months ago and had a wonderful yoga session with Karen Lozano, the session was so great that he decided to bring his group of friends to have the same experience. Unfortunately they didn’t have the number of rooms to accommodate us all; but we were still able to organize a class with Karen (sound healing) and it was amazing!!! The rooms are beautiful, super comfortable, and they offer free aromatherapy. The restaurant has a wonderful variety of healthy choices. My only recommendation is that they should let the guest know about their free classes at check in, I found out too late that I had that option.
Stunning property and the room was probably one of the most unique and beautiful rooms I've ever stayed in. We were in awe of our bathroom and level of detail in our room and throughout the property, super impressive. Our breakfast at the restaurant was just okay, the coffee was served lukewarm and the dishes we okay, not stellar especially given the price point. Staff was nice, however, my chief complaint is that they were less than flexible seemingly because we booked through Expedia. We were traveling with our two young children arriving off a red eye flight, I requested an early check and when they noticed I booked through a third party site, confirmed it twice and followed that by stating they would not be able to accommodate the request. The hotel was completely desolate, we sat in the un-airconditioned lobby for 3 hours until our tour was scheduled and literally saw two other guests the entire time. The dining room was completely empty as well so it was not a function of having a fully booked property the evening before. I guess my recommendation is to NOT book through a third party site should you have any special requests.
This big hotel sprawls over several acres on what I take to be the outskirts of Peubla. (It's relatively near the VW factory, if that's relevant for anyone.) It's on a busy main street but someone watches over comings and goings from a little gatehouse. There's a Starbucks across the road but you take your life in your hands trying to get across. (Seriously, don't!) Public areas, rooms and grounds all seemed well cared for. Staff were friendly and helpful everywhere. My room was clean and well-maintained, although I struggled to get it warm enough as I couldn't figure out the controls on the remote. (Nights were chilly when I stayed.) The gym/fitness center was clean and is well-equipped, although lacking in cups for the drinking water. It is a long walk from the main lobby area. My one gripe is food quality. I had dinner in the main restaurant once and it was disappointing. That's despite ordering Pollo Con Mole, which I thought was a local dish. Breakfast was better with a wide range of choices. Don't forget to request strong coffee rather than the warm brown water served by default.
My wife & I will return to this hotel on our next trip to Puebla. I can’t think of any negative thing to say about El Sueño. The rooms were nicely appointed, the A/C worked & was quiet & the bathroom was large with plenty of hot water. We had a Jr. Suite & the friend traveling with us was in a Standard + room. Both were large & comfortable. Breakfast was included & was from a very complete menu. I think there are some restrictions on ordering from the menu for the simpler rooms. The staff was outstanding & all who had roles which required interactions with guests spoke English. Everyone made us feel welcome. There is also bar & a terrace & food is served throughout the day & early evening. The hotel is only a few blocks from the zocalo & the area appears very safe. In summary, you won’t be disappointed staying here.
DDrew VThe staff is great. Interior rooms on courtyard are quiet and nice; exterior rooms with balconies on the street are terribly noisy-- above bus lines and a bus stop; rooms I saw had NO soundproofing. Coffee service is ”spotty” and may not be available when the staff say it will be. The breakfast room opens onto the streets of bus routes and is extra noisy. A half a block away at the Milo hotel, you'll find a quiet restaurant.
