City Express Plus by Marriott Puerto Vallarta

I had to switch rooms twice because it was either not what I booked/paid for, or because it smelled like cigarettes. The 3rd and final room I stayed in was actually perfect. So I think the cig room was an exception to the norm. Something else that kinda ****** about the place though, was that the windows don’t open, not even a crack. So there’s no fresh air, just recycled air through the entire hotel. The location was perfect, close to the airport. And it was quiet, and nice and dark, my son and I slept really well.

The tile baseboards in the bathroom was dirty on top.

I didnot like feeling hot and humid especially inside the lobby. It felt like you were in hell, cery hot and humid. Literally the AC were not on! There was a storm and the rain was leaiing through the lobby entrance. What a joke easily anyone could slip, fall and have a lawsuit. Overall, not what I expected from City Express in Puerto Vallarta. Will never come back.

Terrible customer service. Poor management Checked in at 1am for layover and front desk claimed ******* reservation was cancelled although status still was showing active. Reserved room was for 2 beds / 4 people. Hotel had sold all remaining 2 bed rooms and was not being helpful in assisting. They kept insisting only option would be one king bed room which would not work for 4 tall people obviously. Other similar hotels all full that night. Finally after a lot of time passed, the maintenance person who was present suggested to the Receptionist why not offer us a room with a king and sofa bed. They knew this was available before but had not offered…. Ended up taking the room and paid same rate as 2 bed reservation rate. Other issues: had asked 3 times (both in person and phone) for 2 extra towels but they never delivered any. Very limited breakfast supply for included breakfast. Although building very new, Half-star service seems to be their mission unfortunately.

Liked the property but staff made us feel like outsiders which we were but, didnt feel welcomed

A lot of people waiting for the elevator, emergency stairs not available for guest, one of my beds in room 610 was dirty and both rooms hasn’t towels

Would not stay here again. After checking in, we went up to our room and the power went out a few times for over an hour. We had no towels in our room and there was not hot water luckily we were here for one night. Would not recommend staying here.

It’s a very centric place, in front you have the seaport and Playa de Oro, less than 10 minutes in car from the airport, next to a mall with ATM, not so far from other beaches like Amapas, Gemelas and etc, the Hotel is over the principal avenue, and it gets you everywhere, less than 20 for the Malecon. But, the staff had horrible attitude, bad service and they made me wait almost an hour for a room I already booked. Also the hotel had a few repairs going on and also was annoying, besides that, Vallarta is a beautiful place, you should visit, not so sure about the hotel.
