What a lovely location, really magnificent. Room was very comfortable and the views from the terrace fabulous. I would highly recommend a visit, and add a day or two.

Unit 2b has a nice view from the deck overlooing the lake. However with unit 2a above it and you can hear their guests walking around like a heard of elephants. Unit 2b has a dated feel to it. There is a DVD player that's not connected to the TV. There is an old radio with a CD player. There is a basket with a game and a book in a foreign language. At $315 / night you'd expect a bit of luxury like clean towels, but they come only after three days (it's noted on small print in the bathroom). Great ambience in the restaurant but the filet was inedible. All and all - a bit disappointing for what you pay.

Lovely premises. However very disappointed that we were provided with no house service. I think this should be highlighted when you book. For once I was looking forward to someone else doing the beds. The small sign in the bathroom states that they only do room service on the third day. But no where on your website do you state the 3 day service level. I’d prefer no surprises.

Hot, stuffy room in an outdated property. Despite how it is advertised on this site, there is no AC in bedrooms. The AC is only in the lower level sitting area, so there is no cooling in upstairs bedrooms. The windows only wedge open slightly, so it's impossible to cool rooms on a warm night even with a fan. There are no screens in the windows, so we had tons of bugs in the room and ended up with a lot of bites overnight. The beds are old with hard pillows and broken down mattresses. The bathrooms are in bad shape and there were ants everywhere. Maybe this place was nice one day but not any more. We had a terrible, sleepless night there. One of the most disappointing hotels we've stayed in. We did have a good meal in the restaurant, and the staff were cordial, but it was not enough to make up for the terrible rooms.

Great stay in a lovely setting overlooking the Lake. Accomodation was very good - clean and tidy and everything we needed to showcase this beautiful spot to our overseas guest.

We had a waterfront unit. Windows galore facing the lake. Absolutely beautiful view from living space and bedrooms. Kitchen was well equipped. Parking easy. Wifi was good. Roomy spaces. Washer/dryer worked. Onsite restaurant was nice (and shares the view).

Stayed at the resort for a conference over two days. Location was superb and the conference facilities and restaurant are great. Stayed in the Executive room which is well appointed and the best view of Lake Taupo.

So happy we discovered and booked two nights at Oreti Village Resort for our recent stay! Our lodging was quiet, spacious and clean with a magnificent view of Lake Taupo. While the furnishings were a bit dated, we very much appreciated the kitchenette and washer/dryer. Service from staff was exceptional, especially Debbie. Debbie kindly arranged for a packed breakfast and lunch for the day of our trek. We dined at the Oreti restaurant both nights and enjoyed wonderful service, flexible reservations and delicious food. We also appreciated the great recommendation for transportation to the Tongariro Alpine Crossing with Tongariro Adventures. We highly recommend Oreti Village Resort!
