Love local, family-owned historical hotels, and this one fit the bill! Friendly staff, intimate building, great window/balcony views. Its on-site restaurant is stellar (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and has an amazing view of the city and Strait of Magellan. Need reservations. Right outside the hotel you can climb the stair for a higher viewing point -- the best in the city IMHO. Rooms have shampoo/conditioner, soap, and a blow dryer and a much-appreciated heated towel rack. Large shower and good water pressure. Three Three or four blocks to the city square, 6-7 to the water. Some things to be aware of: 1) the hotel is located on a hill and you will have to climb stairs to access both the hotel/restaurant, 2) Some rooms are very small. We stayed in the Lechero, which was too small for my nephew and me. We would have booked a larger room, but the hotel was full. So, not the hotel's fault since we can read square footage, but just be aware, 3) Toilet paper is not flushed down the toilet, but placed in the trashcan. Didn't bother us, but may bother others. The hotels down by the square are not like this (we stayed one night by the main square because of our cruise requirements). Would stay here again.
