Mt Lyell Motor Inn

My partner and I order the steak and snitty. The food was fantastic! Such a good pub feed and meal size was perfect. The atmosphere of the dinning area was lovely but unfortunately overshadowed by the loud music and conversations coming from the staff kitchen.

The picture of the place are more deceiving than a used car salesman. The motel is old and definitely not worth the $220/night they charge. Broken curtains dirty windows sills and sink on the main room, which does not show in the photos. The bed was comfortable, which was the only plus for the room. We ate in the hotel section, and food was classic pub style and reasonably priced and taste delicious. Eat at three pub and stay elsewhere is my take.

We originally planned a 3 night stay as a base to explore the region. Comfortable bed, lovely hot shower. Staff are very friendly and very helpful. Restaurants open early for breakfast. Opens again at 11 until 8. We then broke our VW camper 😪 We were then made Queenstown residents for the week whilst the vehicle was repaired. Hotel very accommodating of our circumstance.

We had a group of 15 of us for a meal. All of the meals were sensational and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was great having such a warm reception after lots of travelling on the Tassie roads. Much appreciated! We will come back in future and take advantage of the accomodation.

Confluence Hotel bar is a delight. A thoughtfully decorated cosy bar space. It has excellent craft beers and Tasmanian wines and cocktails. The staff were friendly helpful and incredibly welcoming. A real surprise packet and a contrast to the Queenstown bars of old.

We are a couple and stayed one night at the motor inn! for $99 you can't go wrong, the room is dated and it was like going back into 1950, BUT when was the last time you had a staff member escort you to your room when you check in and make sure everything is alright!, Parking was easy, check in was also a breeze and any questions we had were answered, the rooms at the front do face the road and do have a bit of noise again it wasnt a bother, the wilderness experience is across the road, and a little tip the road the hotel is on street parking is 8 hour - there is no need to pay the $10 for parking the council charge! for a cheap and easy stay, I would recommend and stay again!
