Super 8 by Wyndham Raton

The staff and service at this dated Super 8 are pleasant and friendly, but the building itself needs a facelift. Our door was not easy to open, I actually messed up my shoulder trying to "pull up" as instructed to get into the room. The flooring in our room was "spongy" It felt like they had put linoleum over carpet? The yellow tape going up the stairs was worn out and needed replacing. It's the cheapest in town for a reason, "well used" to say the least. When we arrived, the parking lot was really dark, and there were truck drivers parked, living, and grilling dinner in the parking lot. The entrances and exits into the place were shoddy, with large potholes in the pavement. They needed my credit card info, and wanted to have it on file for "incidentals"? I found this odd and was uncomfortable having to give my card over again, and the help seemed very uncomfortable asking for my card for this "incidental" policy. We got our nights rest, and went on our way, but I don't think we will be returning to Super 8 Raton anytime soon. I hate to give poor reviews, but i feel like this place needs a major updating, and it's one of the poorest Wyndham facilities I've stayed in.

It advertises breakfast and we got a bag with a gronola bar a childs juice and cup of fruit. The tub floor had a large crack and I almost fell. The ice and soda machine was broke and the clock and tv did not wotk. No one answered the phone at the front desk

Check in is 1:00 on the website we arrived at 1:30. My husband went inside to check in and was yelled at by the clerk. Come back at 2. We opted to go elsewhere. I would not recommend this hotel

Very friendly staff. Great location. Older hotel but hot water & comfy bed. Served our purpose for a quick 10 hour stay.

We were immediately greeting on arrival. The building is conveniently located and easily accessed. Is handicap accessible. And pet friendly. Plenty of places to eat near by as well.

It’s ok for a place to sleep. Smells kinda bad but for the price it’s not bad. Stairway was filthy and had cigarette butts everywhere

The check in process was good and the staff were friendly. We booked three rooms and all were in poor condition. The toilets in two of the room had flushing issues. The showers had only a small portion of the water coming out of them, the rest of the water came out of the facet. The drains were very slow draining as well. The AC unit in at least one of the rooms was very noisy. However, everything seem to be clean. The hotel is in desperate need of an make over and updating.

Easy check in but it stunk like animals so bad in the main office it wasnt worth getting coffee in the morning.

The room was fine. Mattresses were comfortable. Pillows weren't great. There was a refrigerator and microwave. The water was hot (shower head was a bit low). Our room was on the 3rd floor. No elevator. It wasn't a big deal for us, but it would be hard for anyone with mobility issues. The room furnishings looked older, but I did like both of the pictures in the room. The a/c in the room worked great. Common areas were very warm. Biggest disappointment was the "breakfast". It was a Ziploc bag that contained a granola bar, a fruit cup, and a kid's juice box. No cereal, oatmeal, Danishes, toast, or fresh fruit. The biggest plus was the ******* price of $89. The Super 8 operator said she couldn't go under $150. The biggest bonus was the drive between Clayton NM and Dalhart Texas. There were a lot of pronghorn antelope and the landscapes were beautiful, the perfect setting for a Western (or contemporary Western) movie or TV show.
