ザ ユニコーン リッチモンド(The Unicorn Richmond)

This is not a family accommodation.We booked for a family of 4 but the bottom stairs is a night club/pub. Maybe it’s good for young travellers that no children but not for a family. And the service is utterly disgrace as no phone service available. You can not contact them, we tried to contact them that we will be late checking in but the phone number on the webpage is not recognise. And we stood for almost 20minutes at the bar when we checked in as waiting for the staff to take us to the room. Will if you trying to picture out the movie of Lord of the Rings when the hobbit were drunk and asking for a room accommodation this scenario you will experience here 🙁😉

We stayed two nights, unfortunately paid in full on check in. £130. Shown to room 2, which had very low threshold over door. Also the bathroom although private was just next door. As was room 3.I managed to bang my head twice, so tried to swap room, rooms 1 and 4 had on suite,but we couldnt change as already booked by others who had not arrived. Although our room was adequate for the price paid, I would stay hear again unless I had room 1. Im sure there is alot better accomidation else ware. But we didnt have time to look around and change.

My shower allocated to my room had again no hot water, and on full power it was a dribble. Light was out in the bathroom too. Tried calling for 24 hours prior to arrival, no one picked up the phone at all. Ended up turning up coming through a back door and waited inside the pub until someone showed up. After travelling from another country and being delayed it would have been great to have been received properly, had a hot and a shower that works. Really disappointed.

THE ROOMS WERE BASIC, BUT AT £65 that was expected. however toilet seat was broken, flush was broken, window in room was broken with a quarter inch gap to the out side letting in cold air all night, radiator in room had a faulty thermostat and could not be turned on, bed side lamps did not work, nothing in the room had been pat tested. then to top it all the stairs were dark and carpeted in dark black, which resulted in a bad fall, which was not put into any accident book, i was however asked if i required a cup of tea. i would not recommend others to stay here. it is cheap for a reason.

Good price but reflected in the quality of the stay. Room had a smell explaining why the window was open on arrival (in Nov). Dirty used glasses in the bathroom, no hot water, dirty shower tray, mould on the walls, wallpaper peeling off.

Initially booked 2 nights (Fri and Sat) only to find out the pub becomes a night club from 20:00 to 01:00 AM. In fact, only when you receive the confirmation email it's when it says the pub has loud music until 1 AM. The DJ was exactly underneath my room and the whole structure shook with the bass vibration of electronic music. Anyways, apart from that my room was very clean and comfy. One of the beds was nor straight but the other was fine. Despite the bathroom was separate it was private and quite clean and cosy as well. If it wasn't for the loud music the place would be perfect. Also, staff was very friendly and helpful and let me cancel the last night (fully refunded) even though the policy wouldn't let me do so. Thank you so much

Lovely welcoming venue popped in for a few drinks with freinds bar staff were kind and very friendly, gave some good recommendations for places for us to visit whilst we were in the local area would recommend to all my freinds and family to visit this place if they are passing!

Extremely noisy, bathroom not connected to room, dirty, poor condition room, I feel absolutely ripped off

This should not be advertised as a hotel, the rooms were disgraceful, there was mould on the walls the ceiling was flaking away, there was dozens of dead flies in the light fitting, there was also a terrible smell of damp. we have stayed in many hotels over the years, and I have to say this has to be the worst we have stayed in, how this can be rated a 3 star hotel I will never know.
