El Descanso

Hazel is the best host you could ask for. She answered all of our questions that we had prior to our hike of Chirripo. They also prepared a packed breakfast so we could bring it on our hike (including a vegan option for me!), minded our bags while we were staying at Base camp and also had a pick up / drop off service to the trail head so we could save all our energy for the actual hike. Jorge was our driver and his welcoming smile was just what we needed to see at the end of our hike. We were able to use the showers when we got back to Descanso and Jorge even brought us to the ATM / grocery store and helped us to our next accomodation. This place feels like family and I highly recommend staying here if you are coming to San Gerado.

Saubere kleine Zimmerchen, mit kleinem Bad. Parkplatz ist auch vorhanden. Das Hotel haben wir als Ausgabgspunkt für unseren Aufstieg auf den Chirripó gewählt, zum Eingang des Nationalparks sind es noch ca. 2 km die Straße hoch zu laufen. Das Restaurant ist top, wir haben hier ab zwei Abenden gegessen und waren vollstens zufrieden. Die junge Dame, welche uns bediente, hat uns quasi jeden Wunsch erfüllt. Einfach super nett. Wir würden noch mal kommen 😊
