This is a quaint boutique hotel. All the rooms are different and reminded me of my grandmother’s house. We had no hot water but other than that it was adequate for a night. There was a charming courtyard that I could have spent hours. The breakfast buffet was beautiful and delicious. Very convenient location to explore the area.

Charming hotel in a beautiful city! The complimentary breakfast is delicious. The rooms are big and clean and the bed is super comfortable. There are bo elevators in the building so if you’re unable to do stairs, this is something to consider. The location is perfect! Would highly recommend!

What a charming hotel! The room was big, with a super comfortable four-poster bed. There was a big wardrobe that doubled as a safe because it was lockable. There’s a little cafe at the hotel that offered free buffet breakfast. They served fruits, bread, cold cuts, cereal, sweets, coffee, juice and other yummy things! There is also a cafe but it closes pretty early. Once the cafe is closed, you can’t enter the hotel via the front anymore. There is an entrance at the back for which you will need your key to access. The room key is an old fashioned key (not an access card) and there was only one key for the room. There are no elevators so if you have a lot of luggage, be ready for stairs! The hotel is a couple of minutes walk to Plonlein and the town hall square, and about a 10 minute walk to the train station. I did attempt to take a bus so the walk would e shorter but the bus driver and I couldn’t understand each other so we just walked LOL. The people who run the hotel are super helpful and friendly. The town is absolutely beautiful. It snowed the entire time we were there so it felt like living in a snow globe the entire time. Is it touristy? Yes, but there’s a reason for that! I would highly recommend staying at Hotel Gerberhaus if you visit Rothenburg ob der Tauber!

Gerber Haus is family run, in a great location in Rothenburg, has a lovely garden patio backed by easy access to the city walls with the kindest staff we’ve encountered. They serve a sumptuous breakfast. Our group gathered on the patio often and leisurely chatted in its beautiful setting. Peaceful and lovely. My husband became ill while we were there—during peak season for Rothenburg—and the staff went out of their way to make sure we were okay and fed, offered some comforting advice to keep me sane and to figure out best routes to get home—the epitome of hospitality and kindness to guests. The hotel is low key, relaxed, in a great location and reasonably priced. We’ll stay again.

We had a room overlooking the garden with a great view of the wall. It was fine if you like B&Bs. What I mean by this is that it is in an old building and doesn't have all the amenities of a modern hotel. The outlets were difficult to access. The shower was an addition to a bathtub. That was awkward to use. It had a fan but no a/c. The staff was super nice and the breakfast was good with a selection of bread, Cheese, cold meats and fruit. The location is great. It was about a 15 minute walk from the train station. It is right next to the old wall and you can see the famous Plönlein from the front door. There is a "fridge" in the biergarten where you can get a cold drink at any hour (you write down what you take).

Located on the "neck" of southern old town, Hotel Gerberhaus is a lovingly maintained guest house with all the charm you want in Rothenburg. Our room was spacious and immaculately clean, the breakfast was varied and served in a cozy dining room with tons of ambience. Our hostess was clearly concerned about the quality of our stay and no detail was overlooked. We wished we had stayed one more night to fully enjoy the city and the hospitality at Hotel Gerberhaus.

Excellent location (within the walls of the village), the hotel is ancient and well preserved, with large and bright rooms, furnished in a beautiful local style. It does not have a lift. The breakfast (15 euros) is very limited for those who do not appreciate frankfurters, cheeses and scrambled eggs (no continental breakfast alternative is offered and the only cakes have to be paid). The only drawback is the surly character of the landlady who often and willingly did not greet and snort if you asked her something (therefore not exactly an example of cordiality and professionalism), who does not speak English well and is unable to explain how the safe works. (therefore completely useless to have it in the room).

Gerberhaus is in a great location and easy to find. We didn't receive the warmest reception and the woman at the desk seemed inconvenienced to show us where our apartment was located (this is larger than the typical room and presumably detached from the remainder of the hotel). She also tried to charge us for the breakfast when it was included with our room (we had to show her the printout of our confirmation to prove we had already paid for it). She was much nicer at breakfast each day during our stay. It's difficult to describe the apartment. When we first arrived there was a strong smell (not in a good way), but it was better after we opened the windows. The furnishings are old and dated (also not in a good way more like from a secondhand store in the 80's). The bathroom was clean and so were the surfaces and floors. But there are a ton of spiders and bugs. Rothenburg is beautiful and is a must see city in Germany, but I never felt like I could relax at Gerberhaus. It's run down and needs an update. The breakfast table is charming and pretty but the food wasn't good.
