ヴァイスバート ロッジ(Weissbad Lodge)

While the scenery was beautiful, the Lodge was recommended by the Alpstein Clinic. When people go to the clinic, they don’t feel well. I was there with my daughter, who didn’t feel well. The Lodge has NO. room service! So tell e how people who are I’ll supposed to eat?

The hotel was very cute and the staff very helpful in giving us ideas for beautiful hiking trails worth seeing! Extra bonus was that they had a washer and dryer and a pool table in the basement, so we could play pool and hand out while we caught up on some laundry in the middle of our trip.

Everything ok, except the breakfast. It's very simple and kept to the basics. That wouldn't be a problem. But it was far too less for the amount of people. I had to call the reception to bring more orange jus, some minutes later the bread was gone. And it always took 5 to 10 minutes until new products were delivered. At 8.30 a.m. when everyone wants to eat breakfast, thats too long. However, room, parking and location were great for the price.

Would love to try the main building as Hotel Weissbad next time. This time we stay with Weissbad Lodge in an attic room. The lobby is new and self served. The interior of the attic room though spacious however looks old and dirty with the choice of the floor wood and the lighting. Won’t choose the Lodge next time. But the receptionist in Hotel Wiessbad ( check in here though I stay at the lodge) was very helpful and friendly. Clear instructions and good advice on the tourist spots.

concierge is off property about 150m walk away. staff were awesomely helpful and gave me some good maps and advice for activities. very new modern room with automatic shutters and a clean feel. everything is well labeled and works as it should. The customizable breakfast is awesome, especially if you’re heading out for a hike! would absolutely stay here again.

Very practical hotel, the family room I stayed at was spacious and comfortable. The banio was visible from the room which is not convenient. The lobby is well equipped with kitchen kit and other useful stuff for picnics and kids toys. There is a washing machine at the basement that can be used at no extra cost. While the lodge is a minute away from the train station, Weissbad is a very small village, so you have to take the train or bus to Appenzell and other villages for food or shopping.

Spacious rooms, pleasant atmosphere!

The room was dark and dingy and more like a dormitory than hotel room. It was very small. The bathroom had a large window without any privacy at all. We stayed with our two grandsons and so this was not ideal. Perhaps this could have been mentioned when we booked as we did so directly with the hotel. Our request in the morning for some sort of curtain, was largely ignored. The staff were neither friendly nor efficient. It is in a very nice area though and we would certainly return but stay somewhere else for sure.

Clean, modern facility with very friendly staff and high end services.
