I was greeted in a warm and friendly manner by a young man working behind the bar. He colleague told the young man that she would take over taking me to my table. Upon showing me to my table, she promptly asked me to sit down and handed me two menus, one drinks menu and one food menu. It took around ten minutes to take my food and drinks order, but happy to have had the time to do a little work prior to a waiter coming over. Friendly manner, by all, throughout. The hotel restaurant was immaculate - clean, tidy, orderly, and a beautifully nice ambiance. All tables were cleaned as soon as EVERYBODY on each table had finished. The waiters and waitresses were constantly tidying, clearing, and arranging the restaurant area. All the decor looked like antiques, but very well maintained. Curtains and doors did not smell, and were not dripping with grease and liquids. Wooden floors were also immaculate. I don’t think the place could have been cleaner… if they tried! I ordered a Peroni to start with, it was very cold, perfectly so. As a starter I ordered the leek and potato soup. It was hot and tasty, no lumps, which is how I like my soup, (I know that some people like chunks of vegetables in theirs). The sour dough bread was soft on the inside and crusty on the outside. Perfect. For my main, I ordered the ribeye steak, medium-well done, thick-cut chips, green-leaf salad, and a peppercorn sauce. Although slightly well-done, as opposed to medium-well, the ribeye steak was wonderful. The thick-cut chips were perfectly cooked, and the green-leaf salad, was, well, a green-leaf salad! Both steak and chips were piping hot. Beautiful meal.
