Me and my family had a two night stay at Sopwell House and this hotel was incredible! From check in to check out our experience was amazing! The hotel is beautifully decorated with superb spa facilities and renovated areas all around. This was our first time here and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Firstly special mention goes to all the reception staff and the young guy who helped with our luggage’s, they are all so polite and lovely and ensured a smooth check in! They even had our room ready early which is always a bonus! Secondly all the catering staff that went above and beyond to meet our dietry requirements. As we required a halal non alcoholic menu the staff always went above and beyond to make sure all our requirements were met and advised us on the dishes. Special mention to Harry, Holly and I think the tall assistant manager name begins with a G- Gabor? for giving us a first class experience. They really made us feel welcome and ensured all dishes were throughly checked before serving. Even if we asked for several checks to be made it was never a bother for them. Having been to many spas across the UK and not having many halal options available to us this really made our stay exceptional and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. But it doesn’t stop there Top Chef Marilena came and spoke to us her self to ensure we were happy and also recommended us her version of a non alcoholic sauce to go on our steaks. Her efforts and kindness were extraordinary and her dishes were amazing! Thank you for going that extra mile and making our stay even more memorable! Her skills and expertise in the culinary industry is amazing and she is definitely an asset to the amazing Sopwell house! The rooms are amazing and the hotel and atmosphere is just so peaceful! The spa is just luxury and tranquility all wrapped into one. The level of care and attention to this spa was absolutely amazing and the cleanliness was outstanding. Special mention to my therapist Ria- I had the scrub and massage and she was literally one of the best therapists I had. She took time to explain it all and her skills and professionalism was brilliant! She defo is very experienced in her field of work and I was literally on cloud 9 after my treatment. She took me to the relax room afterwards and offered me a tea and it was just so blissful! This spa is one of the best in the uk, everything is managed exceptionally well and they look after you in every way! Literally one of the most serene peaceful breaks I have had and only an hour away from London! Can’t wait to be back!
Sat 2 - Sun 3 Aug 24 Went with a coach trip for Blechley Park Was not looking forward to our stay, however, previous reviews we read were proved to be BS in most cases Room was clean and bright with a decent size TV. Bit of a treck from reception but it is a big place. Comfortable beds with spare quilts and blankets if you're cold. Bathroom a little small but with a large shower. Best quality bronco (toilet) paper ever experienced in a hotel. Bit of a stain on the carpet but you can't put new carpet down every time something is spilt on it and you only walk on it anyway. Buffet breakfast was OK, decent bacon but don't go for fried eggs. Good continental and fresh fruit too. Buffet style dinner was good, three dinner choices with choice of starter and dessert. Bar looked OK but we didn't use it. Bar meals are available. Pleasant grounds for an after dinner stroll in good weather. We heard no noise in the night, it was very peaceful. In all, a pleasant stay. If we are to return to the area we will use this hotel again.
My gorgeous kind son treated to me to a birthday afternoon tea in the Lounges at the Grove! What an amazing experience! Treated like a queen! The food was out of this world and very imaginatively created with care! Our delightful server, Maria, was excellent! Quietly described each delicious creation, kept us well stocked with tea and a delicious glass of prosecco! All in all a very memorable afternoon! Thank you!

We stayed for a Thursday and Friday night. The rooms are quaint it being a 15th century hotel. Room 1 is quite small with a tiny shower and toilet. Room 2 is much better and even has an air conditioning unit. The main issues with rooms 1 ,2 &3 is they are at the front of the hotel on a very busy road which goes uphill and thus generates even more traffic noise. The windows in the rooms are very old and do not shut properly and the secondary glass is ineffective. It means we were continuously woken up in the night due to the traffic noise. We were moved to room 2 after 1st night which was much nicer but still suffered from the noise problem. Unfortunately there were no interior rooms available. Our sons stayed in room 16 on the floor above which suffered similar noise problems, we were disappointed to have been placed in the two worse rooms in the hotel even though be booked 6 months earlier. On the positive side the breakfast was very good with tasty ingredients for the full English. There were also another 5 or 6 hot options. There are no pastries available which appears to have been discontinued so should be removed from the breakfast menu. The real positive not is that the hotel provide the wedding dinner reception for my nieces wedding for 50 people which was organised very well with very good food. So if you are booking check they are not allocating you a room overlooking the road in particular do not stay in rooms 1,2,3 & 16
