B&Bホテル・トロイサン・サンパレオゾ・テルトル(B&B Hôtel Troyes Saint-Parres-Aux-Tertres)

Booking Numbers: *********** (PIN 5187/hotel confirmation number: ***************) and *********** (PIN 8304/hotel confirmation number: ***************). We arrived at the hotel just before 8.00 pm on 22/03/2024 - tired after after a long day of travelling. When I presented our "Check-in vouchers" for the two rooms that we had reserved and pre-paid for online with Trip.com, the lady at the reception said that they were only room guarantees and did not represent that we had already paid for the rooms before arriving at the hotel. Therefore, I gave her our written receipts from Trip.com for our payments for the two rooms and asked her to call Trip.com to confirm that we had already paid for the two rooms. She then gave us incorrect entry codes for our two rooms, for which I had to return to the reception where she then gave me the correct entry codes. Later that evening when we passed the reception to to go out of the hotel to find somewhere to eat and I asked her if she had telephoned Trip.com yet, she acknowledged that the rooms had already been paid for online.

Firstly I had to pay twice for this stay, once when I booked via ******* months ago and again when I checked in via the automated check-in machine - no humans were available despite arriving at only 7pm. ******* customer services seem to obstruct every attempt to secure a refund for the duplicate payment. They blame the hotel for not responding, refuse to understand what I am telling them such as suggesting it was too late to cancel (who said anything about cancelling?) or that the payment at check in was just a holding amount - tell that to my bank account! Secondly the hotel was pretty dire. I don't expect luxury at this price range and usually stay in Ibis Budget hotels. However, the bathroom in this hotel was truly horrendous - dirty, smelly, gaping hole in the ceiling, hole in the shower tray, water from the shower didn't drain, soap dispensers all empty. Very grotty and no somewhere I will stay again, even if I only have to pay once.

Travelling from the UK with our two dogs we stayed at the B&B Hotel Troyes to break up the journey. Room / facilities was large, basic but clean and welcoming. Locally to the hotel there are various dining establishments within walking distance.

Lady at reception was kind and welcoming. However, the bedroom was tiny, bed far too big which took over most of the small bedroom space. Moreover, I was located on the ground floor with the window directly looking over the parking lot and the bathroom was opposite this so had to close the bathroom door in order not to be seen by anyone in the parking lot. Bathroom was also very small. Also, I only have an espresso in the mornings, no breakfast so when I tried to buy one from the machine I paid by card twice - still don't know if I've been charged - and put in coins but got no espresso. I asked the couple at reception busy with breakfast if I could be given an espresso from the breakfast lounge and I offered to pay for this but they abruptly said 'no'. Maybe it's company policy, but considering I had attempted to purchase just one espresso from the vending machine, with their help also, and failed surely they could have allowed me either to pay for an espresso from the breakfast lounge or given me a free one? At the next hotel I stayed at near Geneva I was given a free espresso when I asked for one and was willing to pay for it, why not here? I have worked for five years in the hotel industry in Rimini, Italy and the way I was treated left much to be desired so I won't be returning here and don't recommend it.

Had no problem checking in by machine as by chance on journey found an emailed checking in code.( previous stay did not have the code - caused great difficulty).Ibserved another party in difficulties.j

It was only a overnight stay bed not so comfy and room was too warm ,, but Carnt expect a lot from a budget hotel ,, the one at valence was much better

Nice and easy to get to and easy to get in although we arrived late at night. Basic but comfortable. Shower area a bit tatty but actual shower hot and strong. Breakfast good and efficient. Friendly staff.
