I would have liked to give a 5 star rating. The hotel is beautiful and the staff very nice. I booked this for my parents' wedding anniversary. I even called and emailed (from the US) to make sure that they had flowers in their room and that I was billed for them. I was billed for them but so were my parents. It took another phone call from my dad after he came home and talked to me to straighten it out. When they were at the hotel nobody could tell them where the flowers were coming from and he was presented with a bill. The other mishap was that the hotel room was freezing when they arrived. It took the staff several hours to correct it. My mother was packing to go home when the room finally got warm. As I said the room was beautiful but my parents were unable to turn off the bright bathroom light overnight. They asked staff and they told them that is impossible to turn off the light (Bathroom had a glass door!). I wanted them to have a special experience for their 50th wedding anniversary, especially since my mother had always talked about staying in your hotel, but I have to conclude that it was very disappointing. They did get reimbursed for the flowers in the end.

Burg Staufeneck is a very pleasant hotel, located not far from Stuttgart. The hotel's area in nature is very calming and beautiful. The room was well equipped and spacious. The highlight of the stay was the breakfast. The quality of the ingredients, freshness of the fruits and vegetables, as well as the quality of the home made breads and pastries are unparalleled. Simply the best hotel breakfast I ever had in the thousands of nights I spent in hotels worldwide Highly recommended for a calm stay in nature

Very good restaurant (“Burgrestaurant Oifach Andersch), extremely disappointing room (“apartment”). We stayed with our 2 young children (2 and 4 years old) in the apartment, and hoped with our €305 rate to have the promised luxury stay. It was unfortunately disappointing. Cons: - Outdated room, next to storage area and parking - No airconditioning - No blackout curtains - No fly screens, resulting in mosquito bites, waking up multiple times and killing 10+ mosquitos during the night - No possibility to lock hotel room door from inside - No door between entrance area / kitchenette and sleeping area - No turn down service or an “extra” like a water bottle - No toiletries, except almost empty “hair & body wash” press - Offered aperitif upon arrival turned out to be on own expense when used later (€20) - Not very clean (hairs in shower and garbage in bin, clearly of previous guest) Pros: - Views and setting - Free parking - Beds made for children upon request - Swimming pool, although not as warm (much less than 27 degrees) as stated - Very pleasant restaurant, with good service and food, both for dinner and breakfast In short, worth to dine, not to stay. We had great expectations and hoped to make this our yearly stay whilst travelling south for our summer holidays, but we will not be back.

enjoyed a most fantastic stay and a fabulous dinner - the restaurant is stunning by the quality, harmony and creativity of the dishes. Although there is just one menu, that is perfect to spend some time in a gastronomic heaven. Merits more than the actual one Michelin star. Competent staff and great selection of wines. All in all a truly great stay. Competent and friendly personnel. If there is just one element : the sekt was not really at the right temperature but that was coorected swiftly

Das Burghotel Staufeneck besticht durch seine traumhafte Lage oberhalb von Salach. Unser Premium-Zimmer war sehr geräumig und gut ausgestattet, die Betten angenehm weich, das Bad ausreichend und modern gestartet. Der neue Wellnessbereich ist stylisch, verfügt über eine Panoramasauna mit herrlichem Blick ins Tal, Erlebnisduschen und einen einladenden Ruheraum. Leider gab es Abstriche im Service. Den ganzen Tag, an dem wir dort waren, gab es auf den Toiletten keine Handtücher, auch die Wellnessmusik, die am Vortag lief, hatte an diesem Tag Schlaf. Servicepersonal - Fehlanzeige, den ganzen Tag war niemand in dem Bereich zu sehen. Das Restaurant oifach andersch ist gut, auch hier würde ich mir aufmerksameres Personal wünschen. Das Omelett zum Frühstück am 1. Tag war leider verbrannt und trocken, am 2. Tag dann hervorragend, wie das ganze Büfett. Leider ist das Sternerestaurant nur von Donnerstag bis Samstag geöffnet, so dass wir es nicht testen konnten. Da würde ich mir wünschen, dass auch sonntags offen ist. Die Terrasse ist mit sehr viel Grün angelegt und lädt zum Verweilen ein. Kuchen zum Nachmittagskaffee gibt es allerdings nur am Wochenende, da ist noch Luft nach oben. Insgesamt ein schönes Wellnesshotel, das den 5 Sternen nicht ganz gerecht wird.

De kamers zijn heel mooi , en zeer goede bedden. Het hotel heeft 2 restaurants en de bediening was heel goed, het eten was lekker. Het heeft een mooi uitzicht op de vallei. We hadden wel in het restaurant een beetje hinder van een trouwfeest die bij ons in het restaurant zaten.
