コントゥルセ ホステル(Conturce Hostel)

Ahhh where to start? I had an amazing time at this hostel. I was always greeted in such a friendly way, and the rooms were always cleaned and well maintained by the excellent housekeeper, Edwin. He was so kind and gave great recommendations, and kept the bathroom and room very well maintained and clean. Dinelys and Nina were both so helpful and welcoming, especially since it was my first time in a hostel. I enjoyed my first time so much that I came back for another 4 nights a few days later! And thank God I did, i met some incredible people on my return visit! The rooftop is wonderful, and I felt very at home. The beach is a quick 6-10 minute walk away, and there’s plenty of food and shops around. Will absolutely stay again the next time I’m in San Juan! 🤍🤍

When I checked in the room looked different from the website. Then I was informed that the bathroom was outside of the unit, up the stairs and inside of the shared community kitchen. That was not listed in the rental description and was totally unacceptable. Fortunately I was able to switch units and get one with an in-unit bathroom, for a fee of course. The rooms were very no frills and basic and there was no hot water my first day there. The AC and WiFi worked and the front entrance and room doors use an electronic keypad for entry. The staff was friendly and the property is situated on a busy street with lots of traffic, vehicle and pedestrian. There's a small "library" across the street with free books. Shops, restaurants and a beautiful beach are within walking distance.

Close to the beach. Close to great restaurants. Books galore right in front of the hostel.

I guess it’s not what I was looking for so I didn’t enjoy my stay there. Make sure you do your research before you stay.

Was a wonderful stay. The price was incredibly reasonable, staff made it easy for me to check in and out. Other guests were clean and considerate.

I enjoyed my stay. I think if you dont talk to anyone and go straight in, I think its a good stop and go. One of the Hostel workers was extremely rude to me , so I wouldn't return, but Diamlys and Victoriano were very sweet and accommodating, I had to constantly remind and make sure I got the code before going anywhere because I had a 2 am flight. Getting in was easy. The place was beautiful and bright, could use some updating , the tubs are gorgeous but not needed. A fire place or a jacuzzi would be fun. There is a fridge and the beds are so comfy. I heard horror stories with ppl waiting outside.

We are still waiting for them to respond and help us with check-in. What kind of property doesn’t provide check-in instructions. We are so tired from travel and they are not even picking their phone. We are stranded here waiting for someone to help us with our room.
