The hotel is in a very good location, has very fast WiFi. Rooms are cleaned daily. Cleaning staff really needs solid re-training. Every time I left the room, I closed the window so that no one could jump into the room while I was gone and steal valuable things there, such as a laptop, camera, tablet, etc. However, when I returned, I found that the window was wide open. My room was on the ground floor, so anyone could jump in and rob my room at any time (It wouldn't take longer than 1 minute). The window led to the courtyard where there were no cctv cameras. Despite complaining to the hotel manager for 5 days in a row, nothing changed. Even when I put a sign on the window asking the cleaners to close the window after cleaning, they simply ripped it off and left the window open again. This put me under a lot of stress because for several days of my stay I was constantly wondering whether my things were still in the hotel while I was away from the hotel... this is unacceptable!!! besides, two times my towels were taken away and I never got clean ones, I had to go to the reception and ask for clean towels... with all due respect but your cleaning staff really needs solid re-training
Booked a full board and food was up to expectations. However do note that drinks (alcohol, soft drinks and even water) are charged separately even under full board. The bed in the room was adequate and had a great unobstructed view of the coast.

Overall nice hotel, friendly staff and spectacular views. We stayed all inclusive which is a little confusing at first. You have the choice of only 1 restaurant for breakfast and evening free of charge, there is a alacarte Italian restaurant available with 20% discount to all inclusive guests in the evenings. Lunch you can dine at restaurant or pool bar which has snacks including, pizza, burgers, chicken nuggets, chips, toasties, salads (all included with all inclusive). Evening food did change each night with chocolate fountain on 1 night of stay. Some cocktails included with all inclusive but not all, same goes with spirits and liqueurs only local spirits included. All soft drinks ie, Coke, Fanta, Sprite, fruit juice (not fresh) included with all inclusive. There is ice cream pots available from pool bar included but branded ice creams you still need to pay. Location wise, spectacular views just slightly remote for those wanting lively atmosphere. Shuttle bus very reliable and free to take you into town. There is a nice shopping centre over the road but will cost around €10 to get to due to road layout. It’s the same to get back from centre of town in taxi also. Lots of bars and restaurants in Puerto de la Cruz. Towels are available to hire with a refundable deposit for the pool if tokens returned at end of stay. Gardens around pool area are immaculate however the Pool doesn’t allow inflatables which didn’t please my kids, you can however take an inflatable ball. It was easy to get a sun bed no need to reserve beds and we were a group of 9 and we all got a bed easily. Room layout we had a sea view suite which had a lounge which they converted sofa to a single and placed another single in for 2nd child, seperate bedroom with very large bed, large bathroom with whirlpool bath. Aircon only worked in bedroom, lounge was broken, same was the case for other rooms booked which wasn’t great. Our room was 320 and view was amazing. Will say the pool had very sharp surroundings believe it’s to stop slipping over but not the most comfortable to sit on the edge of the pool. They have a larger adults only pool for over 14 year olds which is the one with the large waterfall.
If you're a wheelchair user, please make sure to let the hotel know with plenty of notice. I use a wheelchair that doesn't fold and I couldn't get into my room without taking the wheels off as there's a wardrobe immediately as you enter the room. Fortunately, I am able to walk and only use my chair for longer distances.l, but for others, this could be a real issue. We stayed in that room for one night and they were happy enough to swap me into a different room in the morning. That first night was awful. There were concerning dips in the floor and the noise from being next to the ocean was so loud, plus the wind rattles the windows, it sounded like I was lost at sea. The receptionist was lovely and upgraded us to a family room, no issues, though I hope for the sake of others that there are double rooms available that are more accessible, not just family rooms. The family room was luckily on the other side, so it was totally silent. The breakfasts were quite stale and the milk for the cereal was warm so stuck with the crepes every morning. We did have dinner here one evening but unfortunately, when I got to the dessert stand, there was a cockroach crawling on the food. They were very apologetic and gave both of us a glass of wine as an apology, but then still had to pay full price on the meals. Fortunately, we did bring an extension cord as there weren't many sockets and not all of them even worked. There were no ceiling lights, just plug in lamps, which made it quite dim at night. The pool is barely heated but it takes a few seconds for your body to acclimatise. The mattress is quite firm and I found the pillows were far too high. Also beware that the hotel is on a VERY steep hill. Luckily, I can actually walk quite well in hot weather but I was definitely out of breath when I got from the bottom of the hill to the hotel. The WiFi is awful and I ended up just using my data. The zoo is well worth visiting though and it's a very short distance away. As you come into the hotel, it's got a huge lovely lobby which was lovely to sit in, so it really surprised me how poor everything else was. I have no ill intentions and the staff were lovely but I have to be honest.

ゲゲストAbsolutely amazing. The architecture was beautiful and modern with exotic plants and open spaces. Staff were very friendly and welcoming when we arrived. Large swimming pool with bridges to lead to an island in the middle of the pool (very deep!). Rooms were clean and well appointed - enormous bed but made it feel a bit cramped. Entertainment was provided by singers performing every night (til 11pm so hard to sleep before then if room above). Nice child’s room with a trampoline, table football and air hockey. Upgraded to the preferred club option which gives access to a lounge with free drinks and snacks from 1.30-7pm which we used instead of lunch! Good breakfast buffet. Only used the evening buffet once, was reasonable but not amazing. Some of the other onsite restaurants didn’t appear to have been open all week. The position was outstanding as many good restaurants were nearby and beaches with water sports only down the road. 10/10 would definitely recommend and visit again!
This is our second visit to this hotel and the first was very near perfect for us in the Up section so relaxing with quality food and drinks. On arrival this time we were very disappointed with the receptionist who was not really interested couldn’t even offer us a drink as there were no glasses. Told us we couldn’t book the UP special meal as it’s full up even when I told her I had phoned and told you can only book on arrival. Well here we were with our cases. Room not bad but a real problem on the balcony with birds pooing also noisy from the plumbing from other rooms. Room 618 The Up was brilliant and loved the whole experience but the only downside was they have introduced a smoking area right next to the comfortable armchairs with a horrible smelly stubber bin. It was disgusting. I particularly queried with the hotel before arrival about their smoking policy and was told “We are a non smoking hotel” and it is also on their website. Also quite a few people lit up on their balconies which leaves me unable to use mine as I have Bronchiectasis and it makes me physically sick to breathe that in, The Up section is advertised as a fit and healthy area which is now not true. I would love to return but not sure now.
DDuronRelatively close to the city center and bus station (10 minutes walk), but need to climb going to the hotel. The staff helpfull. Very spacious, clean apartaments and bathroom as well. Equipped with portable air conditioner and nice, stylish furniture. Excellent breakfast with variety of hot dishes!
What is bad in my opinion: ground floor apartament without balcony with view to the very close rock wall and street. No soundproofing at all. You can hear all the conversations from the main hall and reception. What was the worst, the street is by the wall of the apartament and without soundproofing windows you hear all the cars passing by. For light sleepers (like me) it is not a good place to have comfortable rest and sleep at night.
LLolaI went on holiday with my partner far away to celebrate our anniversary and we were super lucky and got an upgrade to one of the duplex with golf views, absolutely beautiful and massive for the 2 of us, but it was a bit disappointed as the room was not clean enough and the housekeeper had to come to clean the bathroom a bit better and also the horrible stains on the floor in the room but after that everything was perfect and we were very happy. The hotel is very good located if you are looking for a quiet place to stay far away from the hubbub but be aware that you need to take taxi to get the beach or rent a bike or a car, walking distance is not an option. The swimming pools are really good and you have plenty of space to sunbathing. The staff at the hotel are exceptional and with a high level of customer service and always willing to help, special mention to Martin from the restaurant and also Raul and Diana from the Reception, very good customers service and happy to help. The breakfast was really good and we were very impressed with plenty of variety for everyone and the staff really efficient. On the negative side we would like to mention that we would have liked a small touch from the hotel to say congratulations as we got engaged and we mentioned to Diana and Raul from the Reception and also to Martin but not a small little thing to say congratulations like a card or 2 glasses of prosecco or kind of. About the room, we would like to mention that the mattress are not very comfy as you expect from a 4* hotel and even though the room was very well equipped we missed a bin in the room and we had to use the one from the bathroom in the living room. We did not eat at the restaurant so I cannot tell about the food there and we did not use the gym or the spa either. We will definitely come back next year.
2nd time here but 1st after refurb. Don’t be put off by the negative reviews here now and on arrival glass of Cava, arrived before 2pm room wasn’t ready, not a problem we asked for a place to change was given a courtesy room. Nice surprise this morning for my partners B’day a letter from reception saying Happy Birthday and a B’day cake and Cava brought to our table at Breakfast which I thought was really nice thing to do. Breakfast is lovely plenty of choice. Staff are happy and always helpful. Pool is amazing with plenty of sunbeds. Rooms are lovely plenty of space to put your cloths with hangers and draws. Entertainment in the evening on The Terrace is good with a different singer each night. Will be returning again next year for sure. Thank you Mediterranean Palace.
I had two persons room in the northern corner of the building. The room is spacious with large bathroom and a corridor and built-in wardrobe. The hotel is nicely decorated and well maintained. The balcony was towards south-east, not very large with a table and two chairs. But as wind in El Medano is always strong and comes from the east it was not comfortable to use it, also WiFi doesn't work on the balcony and part of the room away from the corridor. There room has a fridge and electronic safety box, and TV. There are two electric sockets next to the beds, but unfortunately only one socket next to the table, which is already engaged by the fridge. The hotel staff speaks well English and is friendly. One can access the hotel either with electronic card or with PIN code of the main door and your room. The PINs are sent by email, so I suppose late arrival after 19.00, when reception closes, is possible. The hotel is located almost in the middle of El Medano, next to the only shopping center of the city featuring SuperDino and quite noisy bar. There is also smaller Supermercado Guai in 200 m. But take into accound El Medano is a very small town 1 km in diameter, so everything is in walking distance. El Medano beach is just in 300 m from the hotel. All beaches in El Medano and to the east of it are open for the wind. So they are mostly occupied by the surfers and kite-surfers. There is a small part of El Medano beach protected by the mole. 3 km to the west there is La Tejita beach, which is covered from the wind by the Montaña Roja, also offering great views over the area. There is buses 411 and 408 from El Medano going to San Isidro, where you can change to bus to the Southern Airport, other directions or do more substantial shopping in Mercadona, Lidl or HiperDino. San Isidro bus station has a machine for topping up Ten+ bus cards. In the evining people gather at Plaza del Medano, which is quite vibrant place taking into account the town is tiny comparing to Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas.
Today I had the most incredible experience during my stay at Nest Hostel Medano in El Medano, Tenerife. Waking up at 6am, I embarked on a memorable sunrise adventure by hiking to the top of Monte Roja, where I witnessed breathtaking panoramic views and the beauty of the sunrise. Afterward, a refreshing swim at a private beach added to the tranquility of the experience. Returning to the hostel, I enjoyed a delicious breakfast with amazing people. Thank you, Nest Medano, for providing me with a 5-star experience that will forever hold a special place in my heart.
