El hotel colon estaba muy bien. Cama amplia. Baño con ducha grande. El hombre de recepcion fue muy amable. no teníamos desayuno incluido. La piscina estaba bien. En general Recomendable.

We have just spent a week in this hotel. The staff were great particularly in the restaurant. The food at breakfast was nicely laid out with lots of lovely tasty foods. We stayed in a junior suite overlooking the pool and garden. We also booked half board. Both of these options were good value and made our holiday. The evening meals were excellent and the staff were always on hand to help and the service was great. We tried the local foods which were recommended.The drinks were well priced and good quality. Our room was very spacious, with a seating area. It was cleaned well daily and we had a bath, which was lovely. The surrounding environment was clean and tidy and walking out at night felt very safe with lots of families about. We recommend this hotel and would return if on the island.

We had an enjoyable stay at the Hotel Colon Rambla and generally found it to be a good hotel. We had a Junior Suite which was a lovely, spacious room overlooking the lush gardens and pool. The hotel is well placed to explore all Santa Cruz has to offer with nothing being more than a 15 min walk away. The area is great - streets lined with beautiful old colonial houses, everywhere beautifully kept. Staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful, the housekeeping service was good, the garden and pool area immaculate. The only thing that let the hotel down for us was the breakfast which we generally found somewhat haphazard. It was very hit and miss as to whether things - food, crockery, the coffee machine, somewhere to sit - would be available or not! Some days it was fine but on others there would not be any bowls, the bread would all be gone, tables would not be cleared, one of the coffee machines would not be working. It didn’t seem to matter what time we arrived but obviously was affected if breakfast was quite busy. This is an area the hotel need to look at as otherwise our stay was just about perfect.

This was one overnight stay before we joined our cruise. Generally ok and ideal for short stay/ stop over. Room was adequate, but staff hit and miss with customer service. Hotel is situated next to a school so it was very noisy. Couldn't access the outdoor seating but not told why. Adequate on the whole and did serve its purpose.

The hotel is attractive and well positioned, close to the town centre but away from the busy streets. Our room was quiet and comfortable and overlooked the gardens and pool. Service was always friendly and efficient. We had chosen half board. The restaurant was excellent, with a very good selection for breakfast and delicious dinners from a broad menu. Unhesitatingly recommended.

It is difficult to write a review when the hotel is so near perfection! We stayed in Junior Suite 307 which provided spacious and well maintained accommodation. Perhaps the bathroom was a bit cramped and a drawer somewhere in the bedroom would have been useful, but these are small points. The comfort of the bed, the walk in shower and the balcony are worthy of mention. The staff were a joy right from reception to the waiting and kitchen staff - so friendly and helpful. We had on bed and breakfast terms but the restaurant was better than anticipated both in choice and price so we ate in almost every evening too. The hotel is in a pleasant neighbourhood, close to a superb park and convenient for local public transport - both bus and tram. It helped that the weather was so good - regularly 24 degrees in late January.

We stayed for 3 nights in a junior suite overlooking the pool. The room was spacious and comfortable and had a fridge with drinks, nespresso machine and both a bath and shower. Very comfortable, quiet and dark for sleeping. Air conditioning worked well but we chose to leave the windows open on to the balcony instead for fresh air, and the road outside wasn’t too noisy. The road is the Ramblas itself, very busy at peak hour but ok at night. In the morning you can hear school children. Breakfast offered a huge choice of fresh foods, hot and cold, wide variety of fruit, really nothing missing. We had dinner here but it wasn’t that wonderful. The welcome at reception was excellent and the man explained how we could find parking nearby. We parked at Iberostar hotel and paid for it, but we figured it was easier than combing the streets for a free place, and at least we were only paying while our car was parked. About 12€ for 24 hours.

I spent 4 nights, Saturday through to Wednesday. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I woke to the sound of Jack hammers as work was being carried out on some rooms on my corridor. On Monday, the reception informed me the city council would be resurfacing the road adjacent to the hotel during the night and again on Tuesday night. They offered me ear plugs! The room was clean but small and basic. No balcony. No view. I had the breakfast on the first morning. It was over priced and limited. The hotel lacks character. There is no hotel lounge, bar or restaurant. There is a foyer that attempts, unsuccessfully, to be all three. The location is excellent, apart from the fact that you’re next to a very busy road that is a main conduit into the city on weekdays. When I raised my grievances with reception on checkout; the attitude was dismissive and unsympathetic. The city has many other hotels. Choose one of them rather than stay here.

We stayed here for a week in January to get away from the bleak cold in England. Although the hotel was mostly, if not exclusively, occupied by tourists, it is not a typical Tenerife tourist place; it is a general purpose hotel in a residential area of Santa Cruz of the sort where business people might realistically stay and/or hold conferences. The hotel suited us almost perfectly. We had a junior suite looking out over the small garden and swimming pool. The room comprises one large bed/sitting room with adjoining bathroom. This bathroom has both a shower and a separate bath, which both worked very effectively. (You would be surprised how many hotel showers don't!) Everything was very clean, and any requests we made to the management were quickly and effectively dealt with. The room was quiet at night, largely because it was heavily double-glazed. It would have been nice to sleep with a window open, but the noise of traffic on the adjacent main road made this impossible. The same road noise also made it less relaxing than it might have been to sit on the balcony and read listen to music (or just the birdsong). The staff were helpful and accommodating, spoke good English and were welcoming and friendly. The half board/demi-pension terms offered by the hotel are very good value, offering the full range of the menu in the in-house "Jarana" restaurant, albeit in slightly smaller portions of some items. We would go there again.
