This is a fair and honest review based on our experience at this hotel. Having read the other reviews on here, we went in to our stay at the Domina Zagarella with open minds and a sense of humour. We were expecting weird and wacky and they certainly delivered. Our check-in experience was quick and probably one of the best parts of our stay. We had arrived a couple of hours before the check-in time as we had a morning flight but our room was ready so the staff allowed us to check-in early. They seemed friendly and polite and once all the formalities were out the way, we were taken over to a window overlooking the upper pools by a gentleman. He started off by taking a contact number and stated that he would send us a message so that we would have his number in the event that we needed any assistance throughout our stay. So far, so good... or so we thought. He next invited us to a breakfast on the pool terrace for the next morning where we could learn more about the special group they operate called D Club. We politely declined the invitation as we already had plans to be out early the next morning and would not have been able to make the 9am breakfast. Immediately the atmosphere changed and where he had been polite and friendly before, he turned cool and uninterested. He pointed us towards the elevators and swiftly went back to reception. It is worth mentioning that after we had declined the invitation to hear about the D Club, we did not receive the promised message from him which told us that he he did not want our number to help us out as he had first said but instead so that he could try and sell the D Club Membership. Once we had shown we were not interested, all pretence of being friendly and helpful completely vanished. After this, we went up to see our room for the first time. We were based on the 4th floor and our room was entirely pink - pink curtains, pink bedding, pink walls, pink furniture; by the end of our stay, we had gotten used to it but it was quite amusing at first. Our room was located at the side of the hotel so we got a partial sea view and a view into the rundown building next door. We were not bothered by this as we had no intention of spending much time in the room anyway and the room location turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The hotel itself was clean and tidy at all times, although parts seemed very tired and outdated. The pool areas were amazing and this was the main reason we gave the review 3 stars. The view out to sea was quite spectacular and you had a choice of an upper chlorinated pool with smaller children's pool or the lower pool which was filled with salt water. The upper pool was where we spent most of our time and for the most part it was usually very quiet and mostly empty. This did change on the Saturday which was our last day and the pool and sun loungers were completely heaving with families with young children. We couldn't figure out where all these extra people had come from as in the eveni
