ウィローベック ロッジ(Willowbeck Lodge Boutique Hotel)

Warm welcome on a dull December afternoon by the owner Andrew. Check in was swift and shown to our room,the willow. The room was clean and spacious with comfy chairs to relax. Ample wardrobe space and large bathroom with separate shower and corner bath. We preselected our breakfast choices before retiring for the night from an ample menu to suit all tastes. After a good night sleep breakfast was served in the restaurant that looks over the lake with friendly staff and prompt but not rushed service. Both the hot dishes of pancakes and eggs Benedict were well cooked and enjoyable. The hotel is conveniently situated just off M6 yet in a tranquil setting

Beautiful surroundings, yummy food, great staff and very comfortable room. Had dinner and breakfast, so tasty and very well cooked. The lamb cannon was melt-in-the-mouth, and lovely choice of breakfast options

We arrived after dark in the rain, but the reception quickly made us feel welcome and showed us to a spacious room with a little balcony which overlooks the lake. The ensuite was equally large with a corner bath and a corner shower all working well. Clean, light coloured carpets and solid oak furniture made it feel like a home rather than a hotel room. We had dinner in the double height room with exposed beams that over looks the lake as we discovered at breakfast. The chef did a great job and we really enjoyed the food. In the morning we could watch the sun come up and light up the autumnal colours of the trees. The otter and kingfisher were in hiding on this occasion. This place should be on your shortlist if you need a hotel near Carlisle.

Premium property with spacious rooms, an ensuite with a corner bath and corner shower. Comfortable nights sleep in a quite rural location overlooking a lake.

Lovely hotel with gorgeous surroundings, lush breakfast views and plentiful food options including vegan. Wished we'd had time to dine for dinner as such a pretty dining area and location. Lovely spacious, comfortable and luxurious room! Bathroom could be updated a little but was fine and spacious, hot water took a while to heat up and fluctuated a bit. Only slight complaint was that the 2nd morning there was some gentle pop on at breakfast (Ed Sheeran and the like) but it had quite a beaty bass and as our room was just above the dining area we were woken up from 0730ish to the noise of the bass which confused us as it came through the floor as though we'd woken up above a club! So would recommend the alternative tranquil bossa nova-ey music at breakfast which we had the first morning which was lovely and made us feel like we were back on holiday abroad! Otherwise the location was so quiet and tranquil :) We didn't bring our EV but looked like there were chargers too.

The hotel is pure magic, family-kept and wonderful. We were welcomed personally and the rooms, although small, were very nice. (We did book the smalles rooms though, because otherwise this hotel would have been outside our price range.) The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, great taste. Dinner was nice but overall a little pricey. The location itself is a dream.

The greeting from the ladies on arrival was great. We arrived late and despite food being finished, they offered us a sandwich which we did not eat as we had already dined however the gesture was really kind. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was great and all of the staff and owner were very friendly. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed here on our way to Scotland. Very good place to stay. Location is fantastic and the rooms were excellent. Had a really good restaurant in the hotel. Served good food and wine and had a good selection of both. A bit on the expensive side but very good.

We stayed here on the return journey from Scotland, but will most definitely stay again on our (fairly regular) future trips there. A minor issue at check in was quickly and professionally resolved and we were shown to our room (Oak). It was a lovely room, with a big comfortable bed and very cosy feel. Of particular note for me was the abundance of shelving in the bathroom, which allowed plenty of space for toiletries etc (a rare find in my experience). Well done Willowbeck Lodge! We ate in the restaurant in the evening and had a lovely meal, and a post dinner drink in a small lounge area, which was the perfect end to the evening.
