Iv been running a coach trip for past 20 years , all my travelers want is nice food , clean beds , good entertainment and nice staff , we got it all in spades , Ty daish IOW, already booked a daish hotel for next year in Cornwall, company is so easy to deal with I would highly recommend them to anyone who run around coach trip

We visited the Daish's Hotel Shanklin on a full board holiday over the New Year with coach travel included in the price. The hotel is nicely situated by the Old Village. Our room was at the back of the hotel. It was clean & serviced daily. Although fairly basic, it was perfectly adequate for our needs, although the decor in places needed a little tlc. Meals were very good & well presented. A good selection was on offer on the menu. We were well looked after by Jamie our waiter. All staff were friendly & the hotel was very well run. Entertainment was provided each evening which was 'ok'... never easy to cater for all tastes. Two half day coach excursions included in the price. Overall a great value hotel hence the 5 stars. Will definitely make a return visit. N.T.

We had a very enjoyable few days at the hotel. Very good value for money short break. Food was good with plenty of choice and excellent service in the dining room. Hotel and room clean and tidy.All staff were friendly and helpful. Nice meet and greet by staff. Equally nice touch by staff upon departure hoping we had a good stay and safe onward journey. Hotel exterior definitely needs some tlc. Sadly lets the hotel down. We travelled to the hotel on Daish own coach and very comfortable and clean. Drivers were very friendly and helpful giving out good information throughout journey. Unfortunately return journey was on a non original Daish coach which was uncomfortable and dirty. The driver barely spoke all the way home and only stopped close to home for a comfort break. This took the shine off a great weekend away with friends. My first holiday with Daish and will consider using them again.

Nice hotel staff very helpful, food is good, my room was very nice clean and nice shower, for the money it was good value restaurant staff Zac was lovely and helpful,

Excellent staff especially Mathew in the dining room, food was well above average, well presented,and plentiful The hotel was I'm sure very elegant in the day and some lovely staircases and pictures prove its pedigree however time is taking its toll and many areas could use some TLC. We had room 5 and it was a good size,well cleaned most of the natural light was blocked by a massive tree outside of the window (it was a nice tree). It had the smallest television I've seen and it was only used to watch the news but it was very very difficult. On our last night our bathroom was flooded by a leak from an upstairs room, quickly mopped up by a member of staff however as the water had leaked through the ceiling light fitting we were hoping to have the fitting checked over by an electrician and not the Batman,and so for the last night didn't use the bathroom electrics. Excellent place to explore the island with bus stops within 100yrds and brilliant walk down to Shaklin beach.

We had a great holiday in daishes hotel. The staff in the hotel were excellent very hard working and pleasant. The service in the restaurant was first class the bar and entertainment was good. The room we had no 5 was fine and with a bath just like we requested. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Enjoyed our stay at daish isle of wight hotel..good food.. lovely staff..enjoyed bingo and good entertainment..nice big clean room..went round island by bus..very good value..shanklin is quite hilly so beware if mobility issues..but walk up to town and bus stops ok..

I came here with my mom and two teenagers and had rooms 15 and 16. When we arrived we were please to see that these were triple rooms which was nice as I got a bigger bed than I was expecting. The rooms are on the 2nd floor and right at the back so still a few steps after you get out of the lift. Also bear in mind that the lift only takes 2 people and is heavily used at times. Room 16 - The room was comfortable and clean, however, it is very worn in a lot of places and a lot of mould on the ceiling in the bathroom. The laminate was peeling off the wardrobe and was quite sharp to the touch. The bathroom is tiny and has no lock, the position of the toilet is that every time you move you knock the door open because it doesn't close properly. Room 15 - This room does not have a normal show which is odd considering Daish's demographic of elderly people on coach trips, the shower is on the wall slightly above the taps so my mom had to come to my room to get a shower. When we arrived the kettle wasn't working but quickly fixed which was nice. The T.V only had 3 channels and radio stations unlike room 16 that had several. The laminate is peeling off the headboard and the window took two people to lift and open it. The rest of the hotel looks very nice and looked after. It is old style decor that suits the age of the building and I enjoyed seeing old pictures of the building dotted around. The evening entertainment is nice and light with a quiz, then bingo and a different singer each night that suits the clients that they attract. There are places near by if you fancy a change. Breakfast consists of a small starter of cereal, toast or porridge with honey. After that you can get cooked breakfast, veggie cooked breakfast (Glamorgan style sausage), poached egg on toast, scrambled egg on toast, boiled egg and soldiers or a continental. All of them were nice but poached eggs and boiled eggs are set by the tie they come out The dinners here were nice and consisted of three courses. The starter is always a choice of fruit juice, soup of the day or something else like breaded mushrooms. Main course is a choice of meat dish, veggie dish, fish dish or a range of salads. Dessert is a choice of hot dessert, cold dessert, trio of ice cream, jelly and ice cream or cheese and biscuits. You have to order your dinner by filling in a form at the breakfast table and service is super quick, almost too quick. One time so quick that the waitress stood over the table waiting for my son to finish his soup which was a bit rude. The water jugs could do with being replaced as they are covered in white spots and even though they may be clean it just makes them look a bit manky. There are trips advertised on the board at reception. When I went it was a trip to a stately home and another trip that went to the donkey sanctuary, garlic farm and craft centre.
