ホテル スケップスブロン(Hotell Skeppsbron)

場所とホテルのフロントはとても素敵でフレンドリーです。 だが、防音が一つもできないので、他の部屋で話すのが隣で話す程度の水準だ。 そして最も大きい問題は熱湯を使用するたびにボイラーがぽんと鳴るような音を数分周期ごとに出す。 音に敏感な方ではないにもかかわらず、防音ができないのと温水使用時の大きな音はあまりにも不便な問題だ。

I stayed at Hotell Skeppsbron for over a week and was so comfortable during my stay. It is a simple hotel right near the water and across from an excellent bakery I visited every morning for their cinnamon and saffron buns! The amenities are simple - there is no fridge or anything to cook food with. Just simply a bed, wardrobe, television and a nice sized bathroom with a shower. It was perfect. Johnny was very kind and accommodating and there was always someone at the front desk if you needed anything at all. I would easily stay at Hotell Skeppsbron again the next time I visit Stockholm.

I was double-charged. I paid for the hotel by credit card when I checked in, then the manager knocked on the door that night and said the transaction had been declined. I went out to the lobby with him, and he ran by backup credit card. He assured me the first transaction had not gone through. When I got my credit card statement, I saw that both transactions had gone through. I emailed the hotel, no response for five days. I called three times, on the third try I got the manager (same guy, as I suspect this is a one-man operation). He told me that he would call me back tomorrow between 11am and 7pm. I told him that I had already sent an email with no reply, and he hung up on me. This is a classic double-charge scam, hoping I don't notice the item on both credit card statements or can't argue the charges in a foreign country.

We loved the location! We didn’t realize that our room was in the basement with a strange configuration above a rock ledge with only a couple steps on which to put our luggage……and to crawl above them to get to the mattress! We had our own bath/shower which was a plus. Price was right. Front desk very helpful.

The pictures on the website do not reflect what is seen for real. Our room was small with bathroom attached with window facing an alleyway. Shared coffee/tea making facilities in the communal area. Not quite what I would expect from a "hotel". However, because we travel light, the lack of space was not too much of a problem and the location is ideal for sightseeing, bars, restaurants, underground etc. Fearing that we may be late arriving before reception closes at 19.30, I made contact, and thankfully was sent front door and room opening codes, so thank you for that Johnny.

The pictures on the website bear no relation to what you see as you open the door to your room. having said that, we were travelling light with very little luggage, so the smallness of the room didn't really matter. The bathroom was functional and clean.

We got to.the hotel before check in time, and we were lucky enough that our room was ready, and the staff was kind enough to let us in. Beds were comfortable, bathroom was good, and location is AMAZING. Beds are small and the street in front is a bit noisy, but all good. Would stay here again.

The location was very convenient and the hotel wasn’t hard to find or far from where I needed to be. I want to emphasise that the staff were great, they were friendly and very attentive and whenever I had an issue they got stuck in to resolve it immediately. However I don’t feel the room itself was fully worth the price I paid; considering the price (and no breakfast included although you do get a discount at some nearby bakeries) it was a little on the small side, the shower didn’t appear to be in particularly good condition (missing door fixtures, enamel worn away at the edges making it look dirty) and there was also a plumbing issue in the bathroom. Additionally, the furnishings like the wardrobe, desk and chair didn’t appear to be fully stable and were quite old, and overall I felt a little bit shorted from how much I paid for the room (although I do take the location and time of booking into account). The bed itself was a bit high for me to climb onto but extremely comfortable and I slept well, and the code system for the door locks was very convenient. So in summary the staff were great and it was a decent place to stay overall, but I do think the rooms and showers could probably use some redecorating or new furnishings at the very least.

The hotel location was great in that we had short walking distance to all places planned for our visit. The personnel was very friendly and helpful, calling on us checking upon our arrival and so on. The hotel standards were poorer than we thought, however, since the room was very very basic (though 'deluxe'), and the first floor window was facing to the street with noisy traffic all night long. The nearby 'bageri' and restaurants in the shore we tested were very nice!
