We booked a spa stay as an anniversary treat. The estate and castle are beautiful and we were warmly greeted and shown to our room with a little history along the way. The only part which let the stay down for us was that one of our massages had been moved due to staff sickness, which I understand can't be helped, but the first we were told of this was upon checking into the spa. This meant that both my husband and I would now be spending time on our own whilst the other received their treatment. Also some facilities were out of order/closed for maintenance which we were not previously made aware of, this included the salt steam room, the outdoor pool and the air tub/recliner in the thermal pool. All of which would have been nice to try during our stay. The spa however is also beautiful and kept super clean with robes etc provided. We ate in the Terrace restaurant and all of the food and cocktails were exquisite along with the service. Breakfast was also delicious, this time we were served in Samuel's restaurant where we had a choice of continental or cooked breakfast before checking out. I'd love to return but would check ahead regarding facilities etc to make the most of our time there.

This is our second week long stay at the Swinton (after a fantastic time last year) with our grumpy Pug. Staff always lovely and helpful, facilities brilliant and this year we have especially enjoyed two falconry experiences with wonderful Mandy including a Hawk Walk and Owl experience which have been the highlight of our trip! The option of brunch in terrace as part of meal package is very welcome as sometimes after a big dinner we are not hungry by breakfast the next morning and it’s nice to go to the spa and swim so that has been a great change from last years stay. We shall be back next year :)

The hotel and spa are just beautiful - grounds are amazing for walks and the spa never feels crowded. The outdoor hot tub could be bigger but overall one of the best I have visited.

Everything was just perfect again. welcoming staff, luxury room, excellent food, beautiful grounds. Pure class.

The meal we had was exceptional. Every dish was totally delicious and original. Also very generous portions. The service and atmosphere were excellent too.

There is not a lot wrong with Swinton Park - except that there are things that spoil the appearance of a classic English Country House Hotel. There is a lot that is good, very good but, why for example, can't they serve little nibbles with bar drinks, nuts, crisps...whatever - one pays enough for the drinks. And then there is the Terrace Bar - a rushed non-experience. They recommend six dishes to share during evening service and then rush those six gargantuan dishes - of excellent quality, all at almost the same time, filling the dining table and ruining the evening. Six dishes in under an hour...and we were not alone...a shame, a potentially lovely meal ruined. The Manager appeared unconcerned - even though three couples made similar comments on the same evening. Checking in - we were there at 3pm - had to wait until almost 4pm...one day our room was not serviced until gone 4pm...during the day poor bar service (for a hotel of this standard). But it's still a captivating hotel...very comfortable bed, breakfast was fine - cooked/prep'd to order...the gym was fine as was the pool...and so it's the little things...we recommend the walk into Masham...as well as those around the grounds.

We have stayed here several times and it is always thoroughly enjoyable! The rooms, at any level, are exquisite, the food delicious and the staff are a joy to speak to! We would highly recommend you treat yourself to a visit to this very special place!

Myself and my (now husband) stayed here last Tuesday-Thursday, for our elopement wedding. Our stay was incredible. Our wedding day was so special thank you to our wedding co ordinator Darcy who ensured everything ran smoothly, not just on our wedding day but throughout our whole stay. All of the staff in the main hotel were friendly and helpful. Our room, Thorp Perrow was spacious and beautifully decorated, with champagne on ice on arrival. We visited the spa every day, which was amazing, the couples massage that we had on our first evening was the best I have ever had! Unfortunately the only thing that let down our stay was the service/waiting times in the terrace restaurant, which is such a shame as the food/venue are beautiful! Thankfully, everything else was outstanding, therefore we will definitely be back as we absolutely loved our stay😊
