コーチマン モーテル(Coachman Motel)

This motel is located on the northern approach to Taihape. It’s an older motel; but is clean & in good condition. The staff were very pleasant; & helpful. The only real issue is because it’s located on the main road & opposite a main rail line; there can be a noise issue at night, which will affect some, more than others. Personally, I would stay here again; my wife had an issue with the noise. We stayed for 3nights in early March, ‘23; to catch up with family & friends in the Taihape area, whilst travelling between Auckland & Wellington.

By the side of the highway so take ear plugs! Cheap noisy plastic toilet seat. Good basic motel accommodation.

Our family got snowed in and were desperate to find a bed for the night. We discovered the Coachman. Clean, warm, comfortable rooms. Very happy with our stay and highly recommend to others. Had a great dinner st the local pub. Friendly town.

Nice place to stop over. Travelled with fiance and our 6yo, and the unit was clean, tidy and gave us all some space to ourselves.

Pleasant Experience An older motel but very comfortable. Just one night there in the middle of winter, but the heater warmed the room up, the bed was very comfortable, and we were very happy and had a good night’s sleep! Would recommend if you’re looking for a bed in Taihape!

I have stayed here before, its a good location for traveling the island between centers, just out of town. The downside is the volume of heavy trucks on the main road outside late at night. Reasonably priced and same standards as most other motels for the price. There is a good restaurant close by for dinner, good menue and a welcoming roaring fire, in winter.

Lots of road noise, curtains were not able to darken room as the lights were so bright outside room. Bed was only a double, partners movement transferred through mattress making sleeping not restful

So close to main road traffic noise is constant through the night …… take ear plugs! Otherwise a very pleasant stay

3rd time staying here with a bunch of mates on a motorcycle holiday . The owner Lilly wasn’t on site on Boxing Day but pre-arranged to leave the keys out for us. As always the units were clean tidy and comfortable . It may be a slightly older motel in a small New Zealand town and to everyone’s liking but it is an awesome motel and I highly recommend it
